If you are cool with a fellow student bringing a BB to your child's school then this school will be a great fit for you and your child. If you like the idea of a teacher quitting with 3 day's notice because the kids in the classroom behave so badly then this school will be a perfect fit for you and your kid. If you think it is acceptable for the subsequent substitute teacher and subsequent permanent teacher to openly weep and cry in front of the elementary class because the kids are behaved so badly then you and your child will fit right in. If you think hitting and punching are just part of the public school system then you will really enjoy being here. If you think that unproductive peace circles are much more important than math, reading or science then you will love it here. If you think repeated unproductive peace circles are the answer to almost every discipline problem then you should absolutely know and understand that you will belong here. If you think your child should never go on a field trip then you have found the perfect public school.

We are very happy with the school, and the amazing community involvement. Walker pride flows through the neighborhood, and the kids benefit from such involvement from parents and teachers.

The is a top notch school where all three of my kids have thrived. I absolutely love the teachers as well as staff and feel having a neighborhood school is really important in building friendships for my kids as well as my husband and myself. Thank you to all of the volunteers as you are an integral part of the success. Get involved if your kids attend Walker, you will not regret it!!!

Wonderful experience for our daughter, she has thrived under every teacher she has had since Kindergarten and is well prepared academically and socially for middle school. The Principal has been great...excellent music program and a dedicated PTA.

My daughter has almost completed her sixth year at Walker. The experience completely exceeded our expectations. I am so thrilled our twin girls will be starting kindergarten here in the Fall of 2015. Each teacher our daughter had was outstanding in my views. The communication, support, and the extra time each teacher spent with my daughter was exceptional. I have friends at almost every elementary school in the district and my daughter's test scores are on par with their children's scores. We are not minority or economically disadvantaged, and English is her first language, and yes, there are many students here that are. But we did not find that it took away from my child's experience (as in taking up teacher's resources, as many would be concerned), it only ENRICHED her school experience to be in such an incredibly diverse student body. She and her peers often volunteered to assist new students from other countries acclimate. I strongly urge anyone looking in Walker school to talk to those of us who have children there for a length of time, and not to those who have not even had children attend there.

Was not a good fit for my son. The kindergarten teach was a bit rough and there didn't seem to be a lot of cohension in the school. The new principal seems promising.
