The biggest strength of Marist is also its biggest weakness: its community. The reason this community succeeds is because it’s filled with all the same cookie-cutter people, void of diversity in culture, thought, and religion. The school is just one giant clique, and if you don’t conform to these people, you will never have any friends. These four years have been some of the worst of my life. Girls whom I never even talked to have made up nasty rumors about me. I am excluded, and teachers actively participate in this clique behavior, showing preferential treatment to popular students. This school has completely destroyed my mental health. I’ve had to go on antidepressants because I couldn’t bear to live like this.

Attending Marist is what I consider to be the worst four years of my life. The staff at this school do very little, if anything at all, to stop bullying and sometimes even join in. I've had teachers sexually harass me, make comments about my personal life and tell me completely unprompted that they don't like me all of these events happening infront of roughly 30 of my peers(oh yeah another thing the class sizes are not small). My school counselor repeatedly put me into classes I knew I was not ready for causing my GPA to plummet when I, inevitably, failed the classes. If you send your child to this school prepare for them to face bullying, racism, homophobia, sexism and more! And if you bring this to the attention of the staff they will do absolutely nothing to stop it especially if it has the potential to hurt the football team. But as long as you're willing to pay off the school to get your kids out of trouble you'll be fine.It would be ignorant for me to say everyone at marist is bad, there are some staff at this school who truly do care about their students and want to make a difference. The school is making efforts to change but inorder for things to really change they would have to face issues head on that they'd rather keep buried. When I left on my last day of school I sobbed, not because I was sad to leave but because I knew I was finally free.If I could give it negative stars I would.

My son just graduated last year. Accommodations were made for him as an ADHD kid and, though I wouldn't describe him as a scholar (yet), his teachers were invariably caring, supportive and concerned with his well-being, both academically and personally. Marist is small enough that everyone knows each other, but big enough that you can try lots of different things-- he was in golf, water polo, theatre and started his own club. I highly encourage anyone who's thinking about a really fine education for their high-schooler to consider Marist. Faith-based was a plus for us, but students who are not religious are welcomed and respected and I often hear from alums that one of the most memorable aspects of their Marist education was the retreats.

Marist Catholic is hands down the best high school in the Eugene-Springfield area. It offers an unparalleled opportunity for academic, athletic, social, and spiritual growth, along with a tight-knit, family atmosphere. I took full advantage of the Honors, AP, and College Now courses Marist offers. In addition to building critical thinking skills as a result of these classes, I was fortunate to enter college as a Sophomore based on credits! Marist's teachers are excellent, and many of them have been part of the community for multiple decades. They know their subject matter inside and out, and it shows. Attentive teachers and small class sizes ensure that each student gets what he needs to succeed. Furthermore, teachers are more than willing to provide individualized attention. I always felt comfortable approaching them for help, and they were always happy to provide it. Amongst others, I was particularly impressed by the quality of the English, History, Science, and Mathematics departments. Thanks to Marist, I felt incredibly well prepared for the rigors of a collegiate course load at a Top 100 National University. As a top-flight college preparatory institution, Marist offers more than just academic excellence. Its holistic approach to education sets it apart from the rest of the area schools. Almost every student is encouraged to participate in multiple sports, clubs, or other extracurriculars. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience as a member of the football and golf teams, in addition to the Christian Leadership Class and Retreat Team. My development as an athlete, friend, leader, and spiritual being was every bit as impactful as my classroom experience at Marist. Additionally, learning how to balance academics with extracurriculars was critical to my success in college. Last but not least, I found lifelong friends at Marist! I don't have kids yet, but if I did, I can't imagine sending them anywhere else for high school. I am truly thankful and blessed to be part of the Marist family!

Highly recommend! Our experience has been exceptional. The teachers and staff at Marist are dedicated, generous, kind, and friendly. Teachers challenge the students to be their very best. Students also have many opportunities to grow academically and spiritually. We are fortunate to be a part of this fantastic community. Such a great place!

Marist has been a great experience for my son. We were both concerned about the amount of homework, but it is manageable and he is learning great study and organizational skills, the small class sizes means he doesn't get "lost in the crowd" (although he confessed he would like that option... like when a teacher calls on a Sunday afternoon with concerns!), he tried a sport for the first time and loved it, he enjoys being part of another team as well, he was able to start his own club and he found the retreats to be "heartwarming"-- his own words. I have been impressed with the professionalism and skill of the teachers, even with the challenge of teaching through Zoom and their dedication to each student. He graduates next year and Marist will have prepared him well for further education and life.

Having retired from Marist Catholic HS in 2019 after 19 years as the registrar, I can fully endorse Marist as a welcoming, academically challenging, and supportive community for high school students. As the registrar, I enrolled them when they applied to Marist as freshman, and then cheered them on when I organized their graduations 4 years later. The small class size and the effort that Marist makes to welcome students from all areas of Lane County create an environment where students feel connected, seen and that their success in the classroom is a top priority.

The staff-to-student ratio, strong academics and size are what drew our family to Marist. Our daughter's experience has been excellent. She loves her teachers and the administrative and counseling staff and feels cared for and listened to. Marist was much better prepared than the public schools to shift to remote learning at the onset of the pandemic and we have been impressed with the support the staff are providing in these difficult circumstances. I highly recommend Marist.

We have two students at Marist. When we were moving to the area, we toured three high schools, including Marist. After our visit to Marist we knew as a family it was the right school for us. The small class sizes and rigorous curriculum were a few of the reasons for our decision, but it was the sense of community we felt when we walked the campus that was the deciding factor. Marist provides a welcoming, nurturing environment. We are so glad we decided to visit the school and see for ourselves all that Marist has to offer. The school’s multi-faceted approach, focusing on the “whole person”, prepares students for a positive and bright future in ways other schools do not. We could not be happier with our choice.

Marist is not a school for the meek and mild... the kids feed off the weak.. it is not as Christ centered as I was hoping. The kids are basically college minded, and act that way too. The staff encourages secularism by allowing the kids to disrespect eachother..the holy spirit has no room at dances , and all the music is bump and grind. I've known many kids to be inappropriate with eachother in person and over the phone during school time... I have taken my daughter out and I will home school her with online public school..not what I want but hey, if someone sells small class sizes, Christ centered and great academics...I'm in ! Academics is all they can sell here!
