I currently have a fourth grader and a sixth grader at Quantum. They are two very different children but Quantum has been a great environment for both of them. Every teacher we've interacted with has been caring, patient, and enthusiastic about the students' learning. The staff is also wonderful. I feel like my kids are truly known and appreciated as the little individuals they are and the school does a great job of fostering a community environment. We love that the kids are encouraged to be creative and how Quantum gives them opportunities to explore different activities and subject areas to see what sparks their interest. We've been very happy with instruction across subject areas and we've also been so pleased with the services provided and the general approach to my child who has an IEP and has required additional academic and social/emotional support. I'm so glad we found Quantum and would encourage any parent considering it to take a tour.

Quantum is an amazing school. Everyone has chosen to be there from the families to the staff. The staff truly love what they do and inspire the students to be the best version of themselves. I say staff and not just teachers because they are ALL amazing - from the office staff, nurse, custodian, librarian, lunch ladies, etc. They all know the students. Because it much smaller than most schools they are able to do so much more - especially when it comes to Science and Art. The students learn by doing. They are learning life skills and leadership. Behavior isn’t nearly as big of an issue as at other schools. They have to work it out because the school functions as a community. They don’t tolerate any hate or bullying and really focus on accepting the students where they are at and challenging them in a nurturing environment . My children are excited to go to school because they are having fun learning. They feel accepted and heard in a safe and fun learning environment.

I currently have a 7th grader at Quantum and absolutely love this school. I also have two high school students who attended Quantum Academy from 4th-8th grades so I've known the school for 8 years. This school is lottery based but siblings have priority so my younger two were able to attend as well once my oldest got in.Many of the teachers at Quantum are on second careers so they bring experience from various backgrounds and perspectives which helps give Quantum a unique culture within EUSD. It is also a smaller school than the other middle schools in the district and this environment worked well for my kids. This school has a focus not only on STEM subjects, but the arts as well (STEAM), with art projects interlaced in the curriculum across subjects. Through project based learning, students learn to integrate knowledge across subjects into projects, rather than studying each subject in isolation. One of the best aspects of this school is their Explore and Elements classes, which are 2-4 week multi-grade elective classes that constantly change, giving students a variety of options and giving teachers a chance to share topics they are passionate about with students. I especially like that these classes mix different grade levels to expose students to a wider range of ideas and abilities. My kids have taken classes ranging from chess to water coloring to animation. And several times a year students participate in Genius Hour which gives them a chance to choose a subject to explore and to present on it to their class as well as other students at the school and parents. Between Genius Hour and the elective classes, along with the general approach to learning at Quantum, this school provides and environment to meet students where they are at and challenge them regardless of ability. I tell other parents about this school every chance I get. I think its a great option for GATE students as well as all neurodivergent learners who work best in non-traditional settings.

I love Quantum and I am glad my kids go the opportunity to attend since it is a lottery-based school.

I have gone back and forth on how I feel about this school. I like the idea and the model described in the initial meetings, but I am not entirely sure it plays out the way it is presented prior to enrolling your student. Is it a good school? Yes. The students do get opportunities they would not have in a traditional school setting, which is cool, but for a child that needs structure, it might not be the best fit.

I truly love Quantum Academy and appreciate the project-based learning, the teacher's compassion and intelligence, mixing elementary and middle school kids, the small school experience, and keeping our kids interested in learning and growing.

I love this school , unfortunately my child needs more support with his time management, this school is not set up for that, plus very little extra funds for support .
