We moved from a neighboring county and have been disappointed in our local school experience. It’s mediocre at best if you have an average student. If you have an above average student, don’t expect any challenge or enrichment unless they are in the AIG program, which isn’t until upper grades. If you have a below average child, run the other way. Communication varies depending upon the teacher but no across the board expectation, which is drastically different than what we are used to. Overall, a lot of things behind the scenes are hush hush and that breaks trust with families. There’s some phenomenal teachers and some not so great but I guess most schools are like that. We do like the diversity and the PTO is great.

Elon has always be a great school, until recently. Over the past couple years, we have seen a lot of one sided stories. Six year old comes home and tells us, teachers and students are being mean to him. Recently he had a problem on the bus. A student (5th grader chocked him). Reported to Mrs. Pennington, for her to pretend like she didn't care. Next day my son video typed the whole incident. Carried the video to the school, just to hear they can't watch it and I don't have time to talk. Currently handling the situation at a higher level.

I love this school I love the teachers they have been so sweet to my son. They’ve been patient and caring and loving. If there’s ever a problem or a concern, I love that they’ll talk to you about the situation, and try to resolve it.

We have had a positive experience at Elon. We love it!! The staff and teachers have been very supportive and have created a creative and caring learning environment that is conducive for all learners.

The culture that exists at Elon is one of the best that I've experienced. Administration and teachers have high expectations, parents are very involved, and the kids are well balanced. I am very pleased with Elon.
