I do not agree with tons of choices made at this school, I have failed to have the correct amount of teaching staff. I do not recommend this school, there has been a good amount of fights at this school and some have not been properly handled. And as of one of the recent updates the school (including all ABSS schools) have been delayed 2 weeks while they have had all summer to repair the school.

the school is overall ok for learning purposes the teachers are decent but if you need assistance in learning it isn't good in my experience the school food is good they offer snacks and other stuff sometimes they don't have them they really really care about sports and p.e. like there are so many football matches and any sport you can think of is at this school football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, e.t.c but, for girls in pe? not good when the boys get to go outside and play 3 diffrent sports the girls are stuck in the gym only playing one volleyball. though most of the time they all get to go outside the school does look good but the 60% of kids are bad basic and just bad they cause to much trouble and drama overall the school is a 3.5

Teachers are ok if you are nice to them, unless you are in the midst of the people, then you get called out by the teachers. Some dont think that the students deserve to learn. One of the teachers was physically crying in the classroom. There are other schools and better country's.

I have received graduated from Turrentine Middle School. One thing I’d like to say is that if you have other options, don’t send your kid here. The state of the building is poor, bullying is never dealt with, racism and misogyny are rampant from teachers and students, and all funding goes to sports equipment rather than actual classes. During COVID teachers made little to no accommodations for disabled students who are not in Special Education, causing them to fall back or not learn at all. The Special Education program is also horrendous, treating people like animals.
By far the worst school my son has ever attended. Staff is overwhelmed, there is no effective way of communication with parents for homework or other items, and bullying is the WORST I have ever seen it at any school. Does not matter what color/ethnicity/religion you are- you're going to get bullied. My child sleeps all day, stays up at night, gets stomachaches, and many other issues because of this school. Please, if you can, avoid Alamance County Schools at all costs. They are nothing but a hot mess.

I'd like to be more forgiving in general, but as a third year AIG student at this school, there are very few ways it could be worse. The physical condition of the school is extremely poor and it is filthy inside and out. Moreover, the academically gifted students are worked to the breaking point and the below average ones are treated like animals. Students are losing opportunities left and right because of people constantly misbehaving, seemingly leaving teachers and administration feeling helpless. Just this year we've had 3 separate teachers for the same class. We are told that the administration is doing as much as they can, but nothing ever seems to get done, and the things being said about bullying are 100% true. Just earlier this year, a student used some vulgar language in class because of a few boys bullying him and received a full day of in-school suspension, with the boys who still constantly antagonize him only getting one period. Overall, if you can, avoid sending your child to this school. Although I can't say there haven't been enjoyable experiences, it's simply not worth the toxic attitude and distrust in authority attendance here may create.

This school is a horrible school. The administration does not follow up on concerns as they say they will. The teachers do not care about the students or their education.

Students are not allowed to use lockers due to misuse from the bad apples in previous years.

My grandson attends this school. He is an AB honor student. I am happy with the curriculum but not so happy with the bullying that happened his first year. Maybe this year it will be better. I will be more active in seeing that this happens. Overall, a great school academically

The data is inaccurate on this site. The school's student ratios are wrong as well as how many are on free and reduced lunch. Free and reduced lunch is around 75 percent of the student body. Teachers are highly qualified with many holding Masters degrees.
