Our experience with this elementary school has been exceptional. The school provides a nurturing and stimulating environment where young minds can flourish. The teachers are incredibly caring and creative, designing lessons that are both fun and educational, sparking a love for learning in the children. Students can explore a variety of activities, such as the nature club, Lego building workshops, and storytelling sessions, which make their school days exciting and varied. The school’s commitment to integrating technology is clear, with engaging interactive whiteboards and a well-equipped computer lab. The library is a cozy haven filled with books that captivate the children’s imaginations. The emphasis on social and emotional development is strong, ensuring that every child feels valued and supported. This school is amazing and has some many experienced teachers. They also teach science in 1st grade!

Our experience has exceeded our expectations. It's a great school with families who support each other and teachers who are involved, engaged, and dedicated to giving each child the support they need to succeed. The kids have opportunities to participate in after school activities like band, choir, and running club, have a really great art program in many of the classrooms (run by volunteers), enjoy computer and library time each week, and love doing their PE classes every week. We are extremely happy with the entire school - teachers, staff, and administration!

One things I noticed about all the positive reviews here is that they are very vague. My son started kindergarten at Foulks Ranch and the teacher was so awesome. She was the perfect combination of structure and gentleness. She seemed to really care for each one of her students. The principal at that time was always engaging with the kids in the morning. The vice principal then was Mr. Beard, we really miss him even my son misses him. He really liked both of them. They are no longer there unfortunately. He had the same teacher for two of his grades which was really good because we really liked her as well. Unfortunately, I have watched the slow deterioration of what was once a great school. One of the teachers he had was terrible. She would allow bullying it is allowed in the classrooms and on the playground it is out of control. The principal is hardly around and the vice principal only seems to look out for the children who's parents are bringing money into the school. I have seen him and a few of the teachers speak rudely to the children and was told about some incidences that sound to me like humiliation. It is just like one review here said, the children are treated like numbers, most of the children get honor roll and their are teachers there that talk down to their students. I am no longer keeping my child at this school. He absolutely hates going to school everyday now except to see his friends. He use to enjoy school and his teachers and the principals. Not anymore sadly. Use to be a great school.

I'm a parent of two children who currently attend Foulks Ranch. We've been at the school a total of 4 years. I am completely satisfied with the school, from the teachers to administration. When we moved to Elk Grove, we specifically bought our home in the area so my kiddos could attend Foulks Ranch.

This school is horrible. They teach only to the test. Math and English only..no history or science or pe or art. Overwhelming homework.

In regards to the review talking about special needs kids..they are not lumped together. We have a special needs student there and they are fully included as they should be. This school does set high standards for the students and my children have excelled beyond our expectations.

My kids have been at Foulks Ranch for several years. We transferred from a good private school due to the economy, and based upon the glowing reviews, we felt it would be okay. It really seems like our kids are numbers here, not people (literally - each child is assigned a number and that's what they use in the classroom, the lunch room, etc). I realize that I can't expect individualized instruction when there are 30 kids per classroom, but it's just such a one-size-fits-all approach to instruction that I'm left disappointed for the most part. Gifted kids, special-needs kids, they're all lumped together, and instruction is aimed at the lowest common denominator. I haven't seen any enrichment for advanced learners. Perhaps this is the case at all public schools, I don't know. It seems that about 80% of the kids make Honor Roll, so grading is far from strenuous. We will likely be going back to private school next year so our kids will be prepared for junior high. Foulks Ranch is adequate and safe, but don't expect a top-notch or well-rounded education for your child here.
