I attended Harold McCormick as a child and now both my children attend this amazing school! This school is like family. Children are always their priority. They put the students above and beyond. Encouragement is ever flowing these halls! Communication is key for school/home functionality! I just love this school so much!!

I find it a little rediculous that the children at Harold McCormick Elementary are required to bring dry erase markers, packs of plain paper, etc which are TEACHING supplies, and if a student does not have a dry erase marker, red ink pen (for grading), or tennis for PE then they recieve conduct cuts or lose effort points. I was never REQUIRED to wear tennis shoes to take part in PE let alone get in trouble for not having them. This is for 4th graders. I have seen my step daughter break down in tears when she does not have something "required" because she has left it in the her other parent's car and it's a joint custody situation and her Mom doesn't show interest. Also there are some families out there who can barely afford pencils and paper. If a child qualifies for free meals... how then can they be required to have things the teachers ultimately use? I think it's time they take a little more personal interest in the well being of the child and worry a little less if they are all equipped as mandated. If I see my step child have one more break down over not having a school supply they require I am really going to speak to someone rather than blog about it.

My child has been at Harold McCormick since Kindegarten, we live outside the city, so I must pay the tuition for her to attend there. I wouldn't have it any other way! I love the school. The staff is second to none! I wouldn't want her to attend anywhere else. I hope she has an equal experience as she moves to TA Dugger in 6th grade.
