I have had two students come through WG Pearson and both have done well academically and have been well-supported by the teachers. The staff cares about the students and Principal Dorsey is dedicated to improving test scores and engaging families. Any issues that arise are addressed quickly. The transition to the year-round calendar has been seamless. I would highly recommend parents check out the school to see if it is a fit for you. #GreaterTogether

I have 3 kids that attend this school and they absolutely love it . They have been thriving!! They actually come home and remember what they done during the day!! They also enjoy the reward systems put in place. It makes them want to do the work

This is our first year and so far could not be more pleased with the administration, teachers, and support staff. They are willing to go above and beyond.

I find some of the office staff to be welcoming. While my student is new to the school and loves it. I am not happy that her teacher did not attend the first evening event. I had questions specific for her. Also, she's unavailable for an after school conference. I prefer a face to face meeting. A telephone conference was offered. My student has a problem with the lunches. She has specific needs. I'm not sure Child Nutrition or her teachers are trying to supply or encourage her to try other tastes. I do love the Principal's messages.

I have two children at WG Pearson and they both have had good experiences. Both were reading during their time in kindergarten. The teachers really care about the students. Everyone tried to do their best with online learning but it is so much better now that they are in person. They take covid seriously and take temperatures before entering the building. The principal sends out a voicemail and email each Sunday evening with updates for the week. The specials like dance and art are outstanding! More parent support is needed for sure so come on and get involved.

I've heard this was a good school so I decided to give it a try since my child's base school wasn't. I've been trying to enroll him into another school since the end of Kindergarten school year and my child is now going into the third grade. Continuously wait listed for other schools. It seems as though none of the teachers care, they just want to get the day over with. If your child doesn't grasp their learning concept then that's it, no other way of teaching. Every child learns differently. Communication and abrupt decision making during this pandemic left a lot of parents scrambling for alternatives. First grade didn't have a permanent teacher so there were a multitude of subs. . The only good thing is the afterschool staff.

I am very displeased with this school. My PreK son was sent here for specific needs help. I see no improvement. Communication is poor. Little or no feedback is sent home with my son. Email and phone calls are not responded to at all or only after many attempts. They had no teacher in place for about a month into the school year. I was not informed of this until the day my son started. He had a substitute. Personal things go missing. His lunchbox is always a mess when he gets home, which suggests there is lacking supervision during meals. so does that mean supervision is laking the rest of the time too? He was sent there for help and I see no help at all. I did not have a choice for him to attend here. Stay away from this school. this is not a magnet school it claims to be.
