As a parent, I feel grateful to have a safe neighborhood public high school that provides a high-quality, excellent education. The teachers are professional and care for students. Additionally, the students are very kind and respectful.

This school is absolutely horrible. When I went there I was bullied a LOT and literally nothing was done about it. I tried reporting and literally everything but no luck. This school literally ruined me and is why I became severely depressed. It ruined my mental state so NEVERRR EVERRRR SEND YOUR KIDS HERE. It’s a life RUINER.

I am now an 8th grader and have been going to wells since 6th grade. I know this school has made many peoples mental states horrible including mine. I was bullied in 6th grade and had a lot of very bad teacher experiences. This year I have a very very very horrible class and even after many many many emails by me and my mom, talks with counselors, and a in person meeting with the principle, I feel like I have only been turned dow and nothing positive has happened about anything at wells. I have friends, classmates, and even people I don’t know that I have heard complaining and having very bad attitudes towards this school. Please just send your kids to Fallon and save money on therapists and psychiatrists and also save life long mental and possibly physical damage.

Wells Middle School in Dublin, Ca is one of the best middle schools in Dublin.

We are having a bad experience with this school. First, my child had no math teacher for about 5 months last year until the substitute teacher was sent to the classroom after parents kept complaining. Secondly, the math year this year was horrible. Many students have been complaining on google doc. about this math on 8th because the math teacher was unclear on explaining academic questions and homework, etc. Students and parents are disappointed about this school.

I have lived in Dublin since 2010 with all 4 of my kids going through the system. Wells by far has gone downhill. My child was bullied in school and I spoke to VP at the time in (2019) and all she (who is no longer there and now serving at Cottonwood) said to me was we use a "restorative justice" measure at this school. I didn't really know what it meant until later I found out it is about no accountability and no punishment for bad behavior. There are students who disrupt class and teachers who are not punished. They also recently tried to push through "grade equity", which draws down learning for all for the few troublemakers in school who have no intention of learning or trying. The grade equity system basically allows students to not turn their homework in and can re-take the tests as many times as they want. These measures have really brought down Wells and Cottonwood in terms of quality of learning for students who are actually trying.

The school promotes certain demographics but does not pay attention to the well being of others (Aisans). The focus is not on STEM related studies and ensuring kids are well prepared for life. Instead an easy approach is taken to grading, homework and studies. This enables kids to not take studies seriously in this school. Unless kids are motivated themselves, they are not encouraged to work towards improving in general.

Learning: kids here just want to do the bare minimum. Teaching: teachers are like zombies, stuck in their rooms, afraid to stick their necks out. Social emotional: counselors are overloaded, kids ask to go to them to get out of class. Special Ed: they stay together for two periods then go together to one class together and never blend with other students, have poor behavior that is unchecked, get into tons of fights, then go to PE together and then one more class at end of day together. They do this for 3 years, it's insufferable. Safety: they are ill prepared because understaffed and bullying is rampant. They are selective about what incidences they will take action on. Family engagement: parent involvement is not encouraged bc they want to do things secretly. That is why they only encourage D/F parents to come to parent conferences and announce open house last minute. They make decisions without parent input. They cut every year more opportunities for students who excel in spite of the school.

This school made my daughter's life awful. She had started middle school when the pandemic ended. When she started Wells, she was surrounded by kids who would misbehave, do act of vandalism, and act just plain rude. When she started her second year it only seemed to get worse, she started to complain about how many of the students would be disrespectful and would not get the right punishment for what they did. She also complained about how the grounds were trashy and some of the students were very mean. All in all, this school is not a great place to have your child learn and grow, because of how many bullies are there and how people act.

The admin team has no vision for kids here. I am blessed to have one of those motivated kids , but in this school my child is losing all morale. The science teacher left abruptly and , a poorly qualified teacher ( no background ) in science was onboarded in the middle of the school year. The mail that was dropped to parents was not given any explanation and not a proper handover was given . My kids grade suffered , a straight A student. Now the math teacher is MIA as well , and grades are suffering . My child turns in homework and the teacher misplaces it .Can this ignorance is be justified? Middle school age is very crucial where kids are struggling with so many transitions and , the way your school supports you matters a lot. This school is doing a damage that our kids will carry for a long while and irreversible. As a parent I am worried.

The school needs to hire new staffing because they administration isn’t trained to handle children

The teachers and administration are very accessible and our child enjoys coming to school and learning. Our child's teachers have always been helpful and positive.

My Son attending this school and I loved this. Great teacher/ parent communication. Giving children sufficient homework and making sure their overall progress. Math teacher has this special arrangement that if you feel your child taking more than half an hour for homework to let her know so that she can either focus more on him/her or reduce homework per specific need. PE is awesome, just loving this school, Way to go Wells!!!.

The school is well organized and has an excellent music department. There are electives and this year they offered the gateway to technology elective.
