I would like to start by saying that i have never taken the time to post a review about a school before. But with my personal experience in ward elementary i just had to. I lived in downey for 6 years but i had to move to another area, but let me tell you about a very special teacher Mrs Rippel, my son Damian adores her and misses her dearly, when he started school he didn't know how to write his name, how to behave in class, etc but she always had patience with him and encouraged him all the time and most importantly she believed in his capacity to learn. she is the BEST TEACHER any student would love to have and any parent would trust their child with. Mrs Rippel if you see this we love you your the best hope to one day see you again keep up the amazing job your doing take care god bless you. Overall i love this school so much they are very organized in everything they do and i recommend this school. Goooo Wildcats!!!

I had my son transfer from a Montessori school to Ward elementary. My nice attending Ward from kindergarten and I was very impressed by the teacher and parent communication, and the principal Ms.Box involvement with both parent and students. Its a small school and it provides comfort that each student is accountable for. This will be my sons last year attending Ward and I'm saddened by the idea. Its not a surprise that Ward elementary rated a 8/10 the qualifications are very visible to the eye. Thanks to the teacher for doing such a great job and especially to Ms.Box for her dedication.

The teachers at Ward are very dedicated to each child's learning. Teachers have a great parent/teacher communication. The principal is always available to answer any concern and she motivates these kids like any great principal would. The office staff are super friendly & helpful. We have a great group of PTA moms who keep us informed & plans events for the families

Ms. Box is an active & enthusiastic principal. So great with the kids. Mrs. Graves (Kindergarten) is a very traditional teacher & strict with the children for all the right reasons. Remember, the path of your child's education starts at the beginning & start it off right!
