I would not recommend this school. My child get bullied often and some how the bullied always get treated like the victim. And the punishment is not enough to make the bully stop. If your child protect themselves they get punished and lose out on recess. My child over heard the principal tell the school officer they need to shut that school down and I couldn’t agree more or at least get a new principal and more structure in the school.

I am not a parent but a person who attended here from 2019-2011 (can't remember). They treated me like I was a nobody because I didn't fall under most students "same mindset" then. I was a little special because of outside issues and they failed to understand that. I was sent to the office 5 times (one per day) and not allowed to participate in fun activities and forced to do work that I didn't understand. I was called a "trouble-maker" when I really didn't cause any trouble. I am NOT taking my future children here as they might be treated the same way I was. This is MY experience and don't let it discourage you if you plan to take your kid(s) (Special or not) here.

I have been a parent at North Dover since my now 4th grader began Kindergarten. We choiced into North Dover from a different school in the Capital district and have never questioned our choice. We currently have two children in North and are very pleased with the educational and personal challenges our children have had the opportunity to grow through. The staff at North are exemplary in their knowledge and care of each student in the building and there is a very discernable atmosphere of learning throughout the building. North Dover is a fantastic school for elementary education.

I believe a child's success has a lot to do with the relationship they have with their teacher, and the teachers that my 2 son's have had were great. My older son has a little difficult with school and his kindergarten and first grade teacher have worked with him and helped him immensely. He also stated seeing the reading specialist in first grade, and she kept him on track within his grade level. My younger son just loved his kindergarten teacher Ms. M Johnson! The only issue I have had is with the principle, she feels fake and treats parents like they are her students at times.
