Our family is so grateful for the Westerly community. The leadership, faculty and staff, families- all so great! Our kids have really thrived at this school and we feel so fortunate.

My two oldest children completed K-5 at Westerly, and my youngest is currently in 2nd grade. We feel so lucky to have been a part of this wonderful school community. The teachers and administration go above and beyond to make every day special and fun for all students. Academically all of my children have excelled and were more than prepared for middle school. It truly is a special school and community.

Westerly Creek has helped my youngest, she is in the autism program and she has progressed so much sense she started last year. I recently moved one of her older sisters to Westerly as well. She is doing so good, I wished I moved her to Weaterly last year. The teachers are great and do help their students as much as they can. They are all so kind!

We had an amazing experience in our first year at WCE (2nd and 4th graders). The communication and consistent curriculum across classrooms is amazing. From the top down the principal is leading a well run school and her enthusiasm is contagious. Teachers are engaging and fun. Homework is appropriate and they are dedicated with intervention strategies to make sure kids are at our above grade level. When we experienced a little bullying, the administration and teachers quickly got involved and stopped it in its tracks. Simply said, WCE is a great school and it has been a game-changer for our kids.

Great! We moved to Denver because of the special needs programs. This school doesn't disappoint.

This is BY FAR the MOST amazing experience my family has ever had with any school! We have tried Montessori, Private schools and even Denver School of the Arts. And hands down, WCE, is the only school I have 100% confidence in. Jill Corcoran is an incredible force who greets the entire school every single morning of the year with bells on.

I love this school and wouldn't choose another place for my child.

We moved to Stapleton in Denver, CO specifically for the public schools for our then 10 year old daughter from CA where our public school had nowhere near the amenities nor the ratings of the schools in Stapleton. We chose Westerly Creek for our daughter's 5th grade year and we were so happy with the Principal; Jill Corcoran and her staff, the school is run really well. The teachers in the 5th grade were excellent. My daughter was in the Comfort/Wiggins platoon and she really grew this year. These teachers taught her to come out of her shell and to work hard. She didnt want to miss a day! She hated to be sick, this was a total transformation from 4th grade, where she hated to go to school even though she received all A's. At Westerly however, she found the curriculum much more challenging, but they helped her find grit to become proficient in Math, where she started the year failing. The teachers tested on a weekly or bi-monthly basis to see how well the students were understanding the material. Our daughter got the tutoring she needed and really understood the material. She had the best year ever and she even thanked us for moving her here. The building is very up to date and much nicer than we were used to in CA. Westerly in an excellent elementary school, we highly recomend it. The only downside is that our daughter only got to attend one year.

Westerly Creek Elementary School has a wonderful way of making kids feel welcome, safe, and inspired to learn. My children came from a different school, and they made the transition within two weeks! The Principal, teachers, and staff all seem to truly love their work. We love this school!

My oldest daughter started WCE in 2009 I believe. It was the first school we've ever been to and for the next 7 years she has had nothing but amazing teachers who supported her personally and academically. We took WCE for granted and assumed all schools were the same. As such, we moved on the North side of I-70 portion of Stapleton and moved the 2 smaller sisters to HTES. Biggest mistake I could have made. It was that move that made me realize how amazing WCE truly is. From the curriculum to the administration, I can guarantee you WCE will be what an elementary school experience should be: loving, fun, educational, and passionate with everlasting memories. My oldest still keeps in touch with all the teachers who are still there and she visits regularly. She has nothing but fond memories of that incredible school. And for the record, I didn't have the easiest child to deal with...

We had several great experiences at this school from 2013-1015. During our time at Westerly, I had one fairly major concern. I reached out to Dominique Jefferson and it was handled promptly and professionally. All of our other experiences here were very positive. Some of the highlights for us included; the Halloween parade, the winter program, the annual spelling bee (separated by grade level for lower grades), and field day. The PE teacher hosts a school wide event at the end of Jump Rope for Heart that really shows the true energy and enthusiasm of the school and is inclusive of all grades.

I had two children go through Westerly Creek. One with an IEP and one highly gifted. Westerly Creek might be a good fit for an "average" student, but if you are looking for a school can differentiate, please look elsewhere. The principal, Jill, definitely has favorites and literally bullies her teachers into doing exactly what she wants.

Westerly Creek is a well-oiled machine! We have lived close to the Stapleton neighborhood and have observed the school for 3 years before moving into the school boundaries JUST to attend this wonderful school. When I toured the school, I could feel the love and warmth that the staff has for these kids. There was a lady walking through the halls, smiling and greeting every child by name...I found out later it was Jill Corcoran, the principal! She has built this solid elementary school by personally hiring every teacher under her roof. She is on fire for the community and has the most lovable and approachable spirit. Westerly runs like a traditional charming elementary school but with all the bells and whistles. Wanda and the staff at the front desk are accommodating and kind. The online programs like tenmarks and googleclassroom are well explained and easy to navigate. The kids are applauded for their behavior often and are recognized for it in front of others. They are motivated to be respectful of others and succeed in their studies. Also, there is huge parent involvement. We are honored to be a part of the Westerly Creek Community.

Very happy with the school and the teachers. There are teachers aides in most, if not all, of the classrooms and generally very high levels of parent involvement. We also value the PE, music and arts classes and the school's focus on helping develop student character and reinforcing positive behavior: Compassion, Respect, Empathy, Engagement, Kindness. Our kids love going to school here.

We have been at WCE for 3 years. My oldest son started as a kindergartner and my youngest will start kindergarten next year. We have been delighted with both the teachers and the administration. Knowing the teachers and the administration was important to me so I became involved very early with PTA and classroom volunteering. Both have been great experiences which have allowed me to get to know Jill Corcoran (principal) and each of my child's teachers. Jill has always been receptive to all of my feedback and is clearly committed to making the school the best school in metro Denver. I love that she knows almost all (if not all) of the kiddos by name and greets them enthusiastically in the morning. Our teachers have also been fantastic and always open to having me in the classroom and to providing good communication. I wholeheartedly recommend WCE to anyone who is looking for a good, warm school home.

My daughter, Kate, recently completed her Kindergarten year at Westerly Creek (her second year at the school). We could not speak more highly of the school. When we moved here Kate had just completed a difficult year of preschool in California due to her social integration issues and Sensory Processing Disorder. Kate came in to Westerly Creek with an IEP, which was assessed and issued in California. Both Kate's ECE and kindergarten teachers were very accommodating of Kate's needs and provided an environment that have allowed her to excel both academically and socially. The parents, students and faculty at Westerly Creek have left us desiring little more for our daughter's academic environment and opportunities. Kate's younger sister, Lucy, is getting ready to start ECE at Westerly Creek this coming year and we look forward to watching her grow in the same environment.

Westerly Creek is a solid, student-centered school where teacher support and quality are paramount. This website proves that you can't please all the people all the time. Some parents who are stating their opinions - without any cited evidence - are entitled to their feelings however any one school can not meet the demands of entitled people who expect to get their way without being cognizant of the common good of all kids. The reason why this school is so high performing, attracts the best teachers and implements innovative programs is because of the principal. People need to respect that running one of the highest performing schools in the city school takes leadership moves that are not always popular with people with are only most concerned with their own little bubble of issues.

The Principal has been a gift to our community. She is a pillar of strength and devoted to each and every one of the 700+ children. I've watched her at the CSC meetings and with her students and her teachers and she is genuinely compassionate and in love with all of her students.

WCE is an incredible place for kids - all kids! The leadership is strong, firm, yet supportive and continuously makes kids the focus of every decision. Our oldest is in 2nd grade, so we only have experience with the ECE-2nd grade teachers, but they have been so amazing for our kids!
