Amazing school that truly works to benefit not just students, but parents and community members as well.

Crawford has many things going for it. The faculty and staff seem caring, it is in the area of a new medical center which includes the CU hospitals as well as Children's hospital (giving the school the opportunity to partner with educational programs there), and it is in a prime location surrounded by various other local community resource providers (e.g. Aurora Mental Health, an Aurora fire house, a clinic, etc.). The only downside to the school seems that the administrative team does't seem to know how to build connections with possible future community partners. I say this because I work at one of the major community service agencies servicing the Crawford area and a friend of mine who interviewed there recently said she loved them but that she found it strange that after interviewing there they never called/sent her a note to at least let her know the position had been given to someone else. I get that they are probably very busy, but that kind of lapse in etiquette gets around and its not good for their reputation in the community and especially with potential partnering agencies...many of which I'm sure their applicants were connected to. They could improve on this.

I think that Crawford has the chance to evolve with a new Superintendent and of course the firing of their current Principal. Unfortunately the school has been run by a highly ineffective principal who perpetuated many problems with her blind beliefs. Tough demographic leads to high illiteracy rates.
