Paris Elementary School has the best community of any school I have ever been a part of. The school supports the community through the community schools program, which helps to find partners to support the students and their families. The climate is positive and you feel welcomed as soon as you set foot in the building. Teachers are supported and allowed to share their voices instead of being knocked down and micromanaged. Before I came here, I had been so beaten down that I was ready to leave education. Paris helped remind me of the joy that education holds. No school is perfect, and there are always areas where they could improve, but the staff is in a good place to start making real progress. It’s a shame the school is closing now.

Paris serves a highly impacted and diverse population. I have never been at school that felt more supportive and caring towards families. Teachers at this school are passionate about teaching this population of students and dedicated to their education, safety, well-being, and success. Our community school community coordinator works tirelessly to help provide our population with amazing experiences and opportunities. Paris is a safe haven in a neighborhood that doesn't always feel safe. It will be very sad to lose this amazing community.

Its great the school is closing! The students can now go to better schools. There is no accountability for student progress nor teacher performance. The Innovation Zone is a facade for intervention that doesnt exist for these students with extreme need especially in English language, the distruct blames their culture nit the teachers. The CLDE department is worthless. I conclude this physical building will be a magnet school for the hospital employees or an elite charter school for School Choice not for the community. Watch.

I taught here and it was the worst experience. I have taught in many schools and settings just as unique as Paris. I deliberately went to this school to support the unique student demographics and CLDE needs based on my experience and education. I was hired to be a Teacher Leader but was treated as a PARA or first year student teacher by my co-teacher and by the administration. The teachers I was to be leading had no communication and no accountability. In fact the entire "Innovation Zone" is exempt from accountability measures based on the students demographics. They have the flexibility to be innovative, but do not. I was hired for my innovation and experience in CLDE but nothing I said was valued or even considered. The students do not receive adequate support. It made me sad. I was not allowed to do what I was hired to do. The District CLDE is ineffective too and unavailable to support in their very busy schedules. The reality hit in on first day, after I I was told to sit in a Kindergarten desk and the flexible hours I was promised were no longer a reality. Nothing I was hired to do had happened. I was "in traing" with a Masters in CLDE. It was bizarre! A waste of tax payers dollars and students in need fall further behind at Paris Elementary. I was going to quit the first week, but was talked into staying, however all the conditions I required to stay were slowly eliminated as well. I left 2 1/2 months. Worst take away: This school has terrible leadership. The Team and Family is a facade. Co-teacher was the most difficult person I have met in my entire life. A very negative working environment.

My daughter was accepted here after having a horrible experience at another school nearby. She loves her teachers as well as the other staff at the school. The district itself needs an overhaul but this school alone is great. They keep it clean, new-looking, and well-maintained. Parents are welcomed and treated respectfully. I volunteer there every Friday just to be involved and I love seeing the teacher/student interactions. The negatives are so minor that they are not worth mentioning.
