My student attends APS online avenues. For all 3 years of middle school and my experience with the assistance principle has been triable! I’m a parent of a student who has ADHD. When the teachers blame accuse the student for their behavior do not meet the requirements to consider that not all students have a good social filter. Kicking my student out every day has become a pattern. Speaking about Equal rights and opportunities. Not easy solutions to remove students. Encouraging students to drop out! The staff is low and under trained strategies to De-Escalate defuse bad situations. Hanging up the phone on family’s is simply rude and not considerate! If anyone would like to reach out to me to whom this may concern please do so thank you!

They do not service students on IEPs. Special Education teachers do not even join the classes.

APS Online is a new high school option in Aurora. It meets a wide variety of needs that standard high schools are too large to meet. In my son's case, we had homeschooled since 1st grade and, though he wanted a different options for his high school years, he wasn't ready to attend one of our larger urban schools. APS Online fulfilled all his needs by offering him a 'class' to be a part of, online course work which he was already acquainted with, and teachers to contact whenever he needs that connection. The teachers are also great as they have invested themselves in this 'outside-the-box' program. Other students at APS Online were contemplating leaving school without graduating because they felt so unsuccessful in their traditional school programs; they are achieving success now. Then there are students who have taken on or been given adult responsibilities but still want the opportunities available to high school graduates. My son is just finishing his freshman year and our family couldn't be more pleased with this alternative school choice.
