I absolutely would not recommend St helen Catholic School to any parent who cares about their child education or self esteem. No consequence for bad teacher behavior. Very unprofessional Teachers sit at desk and expect students to be exceptional students but offer no help or guidance.Quick to discipline your child in petty ways. Any educational concerns you have will be flat out ignored, and if your child has any learning disabilities you will not get any guidance from the school or teachers. NO effort or resources from the school to help over come the difficulties but they will blame and shame your child and there inability to meet "teacher standards" St helen school recommends ADHD testing for students often but gives no support after diagnosisThe school needs training and education on how to teach children with learning difficulties. Also needs training on professionalism and common decencyWould give zero star if could

St Helen has provided a quality education not just academically but spiritually as well as emotionally. The school staff genuinely care about the students and families in the school. They go above and beyond to help students including those who may be shy or more reserved like my child. The middle school teachers showed such compassionate these last two years to help her come out of her shell and feel more comfortable. They prepare students academically as we've had friends whose children graduated from St. Helen's and went to both CJ and Carroll saying how well prepared their children were. We are so thankful to be part of a community that really cares and tries to help students grow. The administration will listen and try to help when an issue is brought to her attention and the counselors & support staff are amazing. I can't say enough great things about our experience.

I as am a student I do not recommend this school at all. This is a terrible school. They don’t invest in their actual school that much and only the small things. Middle school is terrible. Teachers do not listen to students at all. Even when it is a emergency. Mostly all teachers are sexist to mainly boys. Also when mostly the boys use the restroom teachers will either yell at them to hurry up right outside the door but not mostly the girls. Some teachers will even go in the restroom or peak their head in and start yelling at the students when they are using the restroom. They deny anything bad they have done in front of parents. And just straight up just jerks. Please don’t send your kids here.

As a former student, now a high school junior, I appreciate St. Helen's so much. There was never a day that I didn't know the teachers cared about me- not just about my grades but me as a person. I felt safe and supported at St. Helen's. I was extremely well prepared to enter Carroll High School. I hear people talk about "voucher students" and I must say it's one of the most unchristian things I've ever heard from an adult. I'm one of those "voucher students" who's Catholic parents wanted to the best for me and took advantage of an opportunity. I'm in honors classes and doing well. The values, virtues, and lessons I learned at St. Helen continue to have an impact on me. I plan to go into the medical field and know that this passion came from the religion, science and math classes at St. Helen's- all of which inspired us to use our God given talents to make this world a better place with the resources and technology God gave us. St. Helen's even allows us to come back and do service work throughout the school year and summer as a way to continue to build us as leaders. The school can't isn't responsible for how a parent/family raises their children all they can do is provide the structure and support to help students achieve their goals in life. St. Helen's (and my current high school) have been instrumental in helping me work towards my goals!

I myself and my siblings went to this school 23years ago and it was such an amazing school I sent My daughter who has been going to this school since kindergarten I also have a couple of nephews that go here and let me say the school has gone downhill. the quality of teachers is laughable the education is that of Dayton Public Schools and the sports do not follow guidelines. It was gotten worse over the past couple of years and I do not see it getting any better. I would not recommend sending your child here for a good education especially if you are one of the few lucky ones that must pay for their education. if your child has a "learning disability" meaning sitting in the classroom with the mask on uncomfortable they write them off as a bad seed and treat them horribly. and the music classes are that of which they sit in chairs reading out of books never touching an instrument and the music teacher threatens the students because she can not do her job.

Very disappointed with this school. Ed choice vouchers make up most of the students in this school. Quality of education is good but not overly impressed with anything else. Not what you would expect from a catholic, virtue, based curriculum.

Each child is made to feel important. The virtue based education is exactly what my children respond to. The community (teachers, administration, Parents and parishioners and children) are very diverse and very welcoming!

We initially picked St Helen’s because of its closeness to Wright Patt AFB. We were immediately struck by how welcoming the school staff was to military families and that they have a virtues based program to teach our children not only academics, but how to be good people. It is nice to see a school that is truly trying to make a difference in the lives of its students. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a school to put St Helen’s at the top of their list of schools to visit.

You simply can't find a better place for a young child to grow. Academically challenging with character formation and faith components at the center of everything they do. Everyone from the Principal, to the staff, to the parents, and parishioners cares deeply for each student. The community is top notch and I would not have my children anywhere else. Take a tour of the school while in session and you will see what I mean.

The proof is in the pudding so to speak! As the parent of a younger student, I look to the older students in the school to see not only highly educated young people but also a well balanced. confident and compassionate group by and large. St. Helen's educational standards are simply higher and with great sports, music and art, the school provides a firm foundation for success. There is always room for improvement of course, St. Helen needs to activate volunteers better and groom more parent participation. Community is one thing that sets St. Helen apart. With a very healthy and vibrant Parish affiliated, we enjoy a wealth of families who care to invest time and resources in our children. Finally, diversity and inclusion at St. Helen is a large part of it's value. St. Helen helps to teach my child that those who are differently able have many important gifts to share.

St. Helen school is wonderful and comes highly recommended. The new Principal and the virtue-based learning she has incorporated really makes the school stand out even among other Catholic elementary schools. Their academics are strong like you would expect, and it is a vibrant and FUN school for the kids! It has a great community feel of acceptance from the parish to the school. I encourage all parents looking for a school, to meet with the Principal and ask about the virtue -based learning. You will be amazed and thankful you took the time to check into it. It is a great example of what should be happening in our Catholic schools and our Catholic lives daily. The clubs, service work, sports, drama, etc. are all there too. I have two children that received an excellent educational foundation there and have been very well prepared for Catholic High School. My only 'negative' is that my kids won't have MORE years under the leadership of the new principal. She is so dedicated that I wish I had another child to send to elementary school or pre-school! Visit the school and take a tour!! You will be glad you did!

St. Helen's is alive and well thank to great leadership and faculty. The new principal is transparent, communicates wonderfully with families, hold students, teachers and families accountable; constantly reminding us that it is a team effort when it comes to educating our children! The teachers are dedicated and go above and beyond the call of duty, Almost every teacher leads some sort of extra curricular club or activity. Students are more than prepared for the next level, typically Carroll High School. The spiritual component is strong and as Father would say thoroughly Catholic. Students enjoy being at school because they are treated with love and respect by all.

As the first year in the role of principal, she has done an amazing job inspiring the entire school from the preschoolers to the eighth graders. She is extremely responsive to parent concerns and truly does what is best for the school. The teachers have embraced living the virtues that are being taught to our kids and are encouraging of the parent participation.

The principal appears to allow the parents to dictate how the school is to be run. She doesn't seem to take responsibility for what her teachers are teaching. Then when she is questioned she places the blame on the teachers. Ultimately, she is the one responsible for lesson plans and content taught to the students.

I don't know where all the great reviews are coming from. The teachers as well as services are being cut. Parent involvement has dropped drastically. The # of kids on vouchers has reached almost 50%. The # of catholic students is soon going to be lower than non-catholic students due to Dayton public school vouchers. I finally made the decision to pull my kids from this school after attending for 6 years. The school is on a downward spiral.

Outstanding teachers. Outstanding parent involvement. Outstanding results. it provides a loving, caring and structured environment. Lifeskills are taught, well round child developement. Highly recommended.

The teachers show their enthusiasm for teaching, respect to each other and the children. The children are taught to do their best with their God given talents, use some of their time for service to others and that prayer makes a difference.
