As a parent of a now 1st grade student let me tell what my kindergarten experience was like. I thought that his teacher last year was great. She always kept me well informed and up to date on process. I started volunteering at the beginning of the year. I saw, myself, many of the students improve over the course of the year. Students were given what they needed to succeed. When there was a student that needed extra support academicly or behaviorally it was given to their best ability. My son included. The students were happy. Students were motivated to learn by teachers and other staff. In the classroom I was not the only volunteer. Which means to me that many other parents in the community cared enough to give their time to aid and support ALL students. It takes a village. As someone who only speaks English I was also glad to see that for the students where English is not their first language they too had times where they were taught English by a bilingual teacher. I would completely recommend and only have good things to say about the School and its' Teachers. Do not count them out. The Staff is fantastic.

We moved to Florida From up north in 2023. As any parent, we want the best education for our kids. When I looked up Flamingo elementary on Niche and grade my school it was rated a B and C. Considering we came from an A school that’s what I wanted for my daughter. As time went on, my daughter has been on honor roll twice already picking up all her grades. So what does this tell me? She’s disciplined and most importantly she’s learning. In the beginning it was tough because she knew no one but she absolutely loves this school. The involvement and activities to learn they have is great. I think parents just fail to come on these sites and express their opinion but I think it’s important to hear parents opinions on here to give insights for others. Our principal Mr. Bullock along with Ms. McNabb do a phenomenal job with all these kids. Kudos to both. If you are looking to send your kid here give it a chance! My daughter was accepted into a charter program in Weston where all the schools are “A” and I rejected it because she’s happy and learning and at the end of the day that’s what it’s all about and being involved in your kids education.

This school is amazing. Mr. Bullock is a fantastic principal, and the teachers and staff are great too. I am proud to send my two children to Flamingo!

Our children have been going here for 3.5 years. Mr. Bullock the school principal has been great since coming to the school. He is really involved with the students and has promoted a lot of parent/family involvement in the school. We were a little unsure when we first moved here about the school, but it has been a positive experience. The teachers have all taken a personal interest in our kids success and it feels like family here now.

This is a great school. I went here when I was little and now my son is attending. The teachers are caring and work with the parents on issues with learning or bullying.

This is an amazing school with professional teachers. I suppose, like most places, people learn partially based upon nature and nurture.

Teachers and principal don't care . I pulled my son out of there because he Was bullied. They didn't want to help him with his speech delay . They started sending me that he was behaving bad every other day as an excuse to get me tired and finally pull him out ! My son was bullied at that school by other kidsand they do nothing! Run from that school ,do yourself a favor and go somewhere else . My son never had any issues at pre-K . These people are heartless !

i went there as a child and so did my nephew and i sent my daughter there.i should of known it obviously had not changed but got worse.my nephew was abused by a staff member there when he went.when my daughter went there she had a horrible time being bullied and the staff not listening and causing one issue after another.ignoring her learning issues and not focusing on her education.i do not recommend this school and i pulled her out and took her to a school where her education means something to the staff!

I went to this school as a child and the teachers and principal were horrible. I sure hope its changed a lot since then. If your child ever complains about school and staff please listen to their pleads.

Flamingo is by far the best school around. Flamingo is like family, I have already had 4 children graduate from their and in the following years two more. The teachers are amazing and treat your children like their own. The school has a amazing support system. It has improved greatly due to the amazing new principal. Can I say amazing enough, I love this school and it speaks volumes when our children are excited to go back every year and those who have graduated still like to go back and visit old teachers. If you want a school that is like family and you know your children are well cared for then Flamingo is the place. We love this school.

I know the immediate area around the school leaves a lot to be desired. I was originally skeptical to send my children also. However, it really is such a nice school. Many of the staff has been there for years and years and feels like a little family. I am very happy that I didn't judge this book by its cover. Most students come from the Shenandoah neighborhood.

I will be moving to the area and our assigned school is Flamingo elementary, I've heard it's an A school, but a bit concerned about it's location???? Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated.

Staff seems to be very accommodating, so far. Children seem to be happy and the school seems to be very organized. I do think that homework for kindergarten classes in the first week is a bit too much. They need to acclimate a bit first before adding pressue of homework after a 6-8 hour day.

Flamingo is a wonderful school. The teachers work very hard and put in many hours beyond what parents can see. The administration has also worked hard in working with partners and including many family nights in a way to allow the parents to be involved.

Flamingo elementary is the worst school I have ever seen..the principle is rude, no people skills.. the office staff talks openly in office your personal business for everyone to hear.. they are not interested in education, just gossiping. Most of the teachers are rude. Both my children detested going each day due to pressure at fcat time and miserable teachers.. They're only interested in bonuses and anything to benefit flamingos "name".
