I'm literally obsessed. After moving here with my two kids with special needs I find this could not be a more loving or supportive community!! It's like a dream sending my kids to school here. And we came from a top-rated district near by.

Raising three kids and we're half way through at Greenbrook. All three of my kids are so different and Greenbrook has done an excellent job in helping them succeed both academically and socially. My oldest needed speech and language services and is now no longer needing that support. My middle has an IEP for OHI and they are giving her all the accommodations needed to be successful. My youngest is... wild... and they hold him with loving accountability. So thankful to have my kids in school here and can't recommend it enough.

Wonderful, small school community with competent, caring teachers. The kids are well behaved and the academics are sound without the stress. Both my kids have done well here. The school also offers GATE and after school Math Olympiad for students who like to do more. The science is fun and my daughter enjoys it here more than she did at her private school. We’ve encountered zero bullying and the school strives to create an inclusive environment. The school also has music and art and the office staff is friendly. Overall we would recommend Greenbrook to friends and family.

Really love this school. The community is strong, and the relationships between teachers, admins, parents, children are sincere and caring. My child needed some extra help in the socializing department, and his teacher recommended the school's "rainbow room" program, which was very helpful. Remote during the pandemic was as well executed as could be asked for (recognizing, of course, that remote is broadly inferior to in person). The school is the heart of the Greenbrook community and the staff take that seriously. It is an idyllic setting for learning. Some of the downsides: Given San Ramon Valley school district is a privileged school district, state funds do not generally end up here, so fundraising is common - which on the positive side contributes to the sense of community. Also, while diversity is celebrated by the school, it remains the case that area is not very diverse... but that seems to be changing.

My son had a great experience at Greenbrook. His teachers taught him a lot, he learned how to manage himself, his friendships, and his work, in a very positive and encouraging environment. The students were respectful, kind, and good learners. It was an awesome experience to be at Greenbrook. My son attended from 2007-2013.

So far mostly so good. One teacher is a bit rigid for my tastes (quick to mark tardy, a little "snappy" etc), but my child is learning well, so I will not make a big deal when I know we will encounter many styles over the years. The school overall has a charm to it with active engaged parents. My criticism: there is too much emphasis on fundraising. I am a working parent. I am glad to donate to the school's nonprofit to pay for teacher aides, extras and pay the higher rate by choice. I don't want to be bombarded with all kinds of events, buy this & that, during the year. They should scale that back & focus more on just getting straight-up donations, which is way more efficient per hour of effort and direct the volunteer energy to the classroom, not running events. there's enough to think about to support our children, homework etc , I don't need a bunch of extra stuff to buy or attend! Have mercy please!

School is tucked in a very nice community. Feels that you are in very safe neighborhood. The after school program, Kids Country is very good. The new principal seems to be on top of things. Don't like : I really don't like the school environment when it comes to diversity. At one point, the school has a big banner that they value diversity. That said, I really feel that kids over there are not really exposed to this - and not just the kids. It's one thing to say it but another thing to see if they really have it. I can see that it's not in the school's culture. During my son's first day, the teacher paired him to another asian which I thought was very odd. I also never felt that their teachers are sincerely engaged with us. Even though we had the option to stay in this school, we decided to move to our home school in San Ramon. What a difference. Teachers are very, very engaged and has a good mix of diverse cultures, backgrounds and languages.

Snobby clique school ....ridiculous . Parents are very competitive and bullying goes on. We moved here from Central Valley for the school but this is worse than many schools in the Valley. Principal leadership is missing. This is a school for you if you own a fancy car and want to spend your working hours volunteering for the school.

To the parent of the last post, titled "Snobby clique school": We lived in the Central Valley a while, ago, but I don't share your experience. The economics of the parents are all over the spectrum, and so are the attitudes. There are a lot of "down to earth" parents here, and I hope you will give them a chance to reach out to you. Yes, Bay Area schools seem to have a more competitive atmosphere, but within SRVUSD Greenbrook definitively has a lot more community spirit than many other schools. I think the principal is doing a great job reaching out and listening to parents, much better than the previous one. I encourage you to attend some of the community events, if your schedule allows that. Parent involvement is such an important factor in a school's success. And yes, it takes an effort to make time to do this in addition to your work and family schedule, but I think it's worth it. I am giving Greenbrook 4 stars, because I am overall satisfied with the school, but there is always room for improvement. What kind of improvement would you want to see?
