Amazing school with teachers who really care and an exceptional principal who is inclusive, takes feedback, and goes above and beyond to keep improving and make the school the best place for children to learn. This school has an expectation of parents volunteering their time and money to make this a great place for their children to learn, and because of that it has a very strong community of invested parents. Only downfall is that the district is the third lowest funded in the state which really makes it a challenge for what they can offer our students. As such, supplemental fundraising is necessary.

Amazing new principal who is very organized, honest, open to ideas, and all around great. Parent and community support is huge, lots of fundraising to keep music, art, and technology alive and well. Also paraeducators in all classrooms to help teachers and challenged students. Special programs like rainbow room to help any child struggling socially/emotionally. This school is limited to what it can do by handcuffs from the district, but beside that it is fabulous! Also it is one of the onlySchools in the district with an Alternative Learning option.

Perhaps with the new principal will create some change. However, our experience with the administration and staff was depressing - not friendly or welcoming. While our child learned a lot, it wasn't worth the emotional trauma and their crying every day because they didn't want to go to school to see their "mean teacher".

We enjoyed this school very much. My son had a FANTASTIC 1st grade teacher (Mrs. Littlejohn)... she took the time out of her own schedule to host reading club 3 days per week ALL YEAR long! You just can't find too many great teachers like that these days. The principal and staff were always very friendly as well.

The principal at this school is terrific! She helped my child get into a middle school when no one else would. She is strict but my children love her. The academic support from teachers has been great. I am happy with this school!

For the most part, the school is pretty good; unfortunately, there are alot of administration that have been there a looonnnggggg time, which means no new ideas can be brought to the table. Substitute teachers (if they can find them!) are a DISASTER! The 'regular' teachers want your kids to succeed. The adjunct 'staff' (after school stuff, music guy) is very lame, and they do ALOT of fundraising. SRVUSD is a good district, with good schools (but not great).
