Great teachers, great staff, overall nurturing environment. Very happy with my children’s education here.

This school is prison. I went to this school as a child and it scarred my life. It is known as the school without walls, a very poor school. This school should not be on greatschools.org. My parents always say "that's Smith School education!" when I say something that makes no sense. The people that went to this school with me are very different from the rest of the town. There is something different about this school. The food at this school is horrendous. It is absolutely disgusting. I am going to end this review saying thank Smith School for ruining my life.

My 2 children attend Smith and absolutely love it! The school is the best in the district and many people from towns north of Danvers have asked me if my girls go to private school. Another great compliment I hear a lot is that when the children reach middle school and high school, the teachers can tell which kids attended Smith because they can focus and work amongst noise and distraction. (Smith school is an open school without doors separating/isolating classrooms). The school has so many activities for the children like; plays, music, physical ed, art, art shows, chorus, after school activities, etc. Bullying is not tolerated at all. The principle and assistant principal know every single name of each student as they greet them personally every morning. Can't say enough about Smith!

Smith School is an outstanding elementary school. Extremely dedicated staff that obviously cares along with the activities that bring a sense of community to the school has helped our two children tremendously. They identify with the school and trully enjoy attending.

This is the school I went to. Most kids know it as the school without walls and think our school was poor. The lack of walls though created a greater sense of family than other elementary schools who were separated by walls. Our principals were great and cared for each student and took the time to know each student. We were always prepared for MCAS each year for the 6 years I was there. Now my little brother goes there despite how many of my teachers retired everything is pretty much the same. The same sense of family and teachers to whip these kids into shape.

Not the same school it was a few years ago when my first child went. To MCAS focused, teachers are stressed, principal seems to be very controlling and the new report card are terrible.
