Wonderful experience at SCE for the last 2 years. Looking forward to this school year.

Overall our experience has been poor at best. Unfortunately we moved to the area for the schools and SC has been a complete failure. Our child doesn't even want to go to school there. Red flags really went up after last year and over 30 teachers left the school, willingly. I'm surprised that the superintendent isn't more involved. I once heard him say that SC has trouble retaining subs because of their location; he clearly does not know what's going on in within those walls. They struggle getting subs in the school because they do not want to be there, in that building, with that administration. They are awful. Reality check.

The administration is putting the safety of students and staff at risk by not supporting their teachers with behaviors in the classroom. Parent concerns are swept under the rug and downplayed over and over and unless parents cause a big battle, the administration does nothing. They look the other way and refuse to do anything for a child who disrupts the classroom and/or causes safety concerns for everyone in the classroom. This is a major issue and has been going on for many years. Administration is fully aware and refuses to support. Unless your child is coming home and telling you what happened in their classroom that day, it is behind closed doors and unknown. Due to the frequency, this might even become the norm in your child's classroom.

They have a lot of good teachers . I think they struggle at the leadership level , and at the admin side . Unfortunately , that sets the perception for everyone else . The principal claims to want parent support and feedback , but discounts when parents give feedback. Since they do not have a lot of minorities at the school they struggle with situations involving different ethnic backgrounds . Instead of just treating everyone the same, they awkwardly manifest situations . Overall , this is a good school and they have some good teachers . It is tough for me to score due to the teachers strength , but there is enough to work on with the leadership of the school that keeps this at a 3.

A wonderful school. My children love it and I can't say enough good things about the staff and extra curricular activities

I cannot say enough great things about Silver City Elementary! We have had a wonderful experience there so far and I look forward to many more great years as my other children enter school there. I have found the teachers to be actively engaged with the students, pushing them to achieve greatness and working with them when they struggle. The administration is top notch. All the support staff that I have encountered is vested in the good the of the school. My oldest needed a little extra assistance in reading and was provided additional resources to not only get him back on track, but exceeding expectations! I am very happy to be part of the Comet community!

This school has a serious intolerance problem. Many of the children are racist bullies who harrass the few minority students. The faculty is consistently disrespected by the children and it is not only tolerated but accepted. There are school yard fights almost daily. I feel like we moved to the hood. They teach to test. I am not sure the staff here is even familiar with a well rounded education. All they care about are test scores. I am extremely dissapointed thus far but hoping for a change.

Pulled both my kids from this school. Teachers gang up on students and parents. Horrible expierence!!! Took my then 5th grader with special needs nose against the board and made him stand there because the speech therapist got him back to class late.

The leadership at the school is inexperienced. They have trouble handling situations outside the average or normal.

5 STARS for Silver City! I have one year left with my little girl and it will be like leaving the family behind going to middle school. Thanks to all the wonderful teachers and staff leadership for everything.

First of all I am shocked to read the 2 obiviously bitter remarks for Silver City. This is the best school I have ever been associatied. Forsyth County is a great school district as a whole and SCES is a shinning jewel on this crown. Just look at the test scores! The teachers and the administrators are the BEST! Thanks to all of you for making my childs early years so terrific!

Silver City Gets an A+, Great Teachers, Great Leadership! and the PTA works hard. Great Experience! I was very nervous about my child leaving SCES for NFMS but it has been a breeze.

I have had the pleasure of working at Silver City the last five years. It has been a wonderful experience through and through. From the minute you walk into the doors you can get a feel of the warm caring climate it carries throughout the building. There are many friendly faces greeting parents, students, and colleagues each morning. If I were to ever need help with any project, there are many who volunteer their services with open arms. The relationships between the teachers and students and parents is one that is truly geniune. Teachers are always happy to have parent support throughout the day. Students are actively involved and enjoy learning with many engaging activities. I could go on and on, but I can honestly say it is the "best" place to work. The administration are totally supportive of their faculty and our philosophy as a whole is to do what' s best for kids.

My child has gone to SCES for 3 yrs and we loved it the first year for Kindergarten, but it has gradually become a nightmare. If your child struggles in the classroom you will be lucky to get him the he needs to succeed. The second grade curriculum is ridiculous and my child never brought home any spelling words to learn how to spell, much less any other academic material. The "homework" was easier than what he did in Kindergarten. The teacher was not engaged at all in her students success. A lot of things have gone wrong in this school the past 2 yrs. I hope it starts living up to the high standards that Forsyth County schools are rated, but until then, we will not be continuing our children's educations there. What a complete disappointment.

My kids went to Cumming Elementary last year, but we moved and now they're going to Silver City. I was sad at first because we LOVED everything about CES. I have to say that SCES is even better. Great teachers, very caring, and my kids are getting excellent educations.
