This school was a terrible experience, they might say that "We are one of the best schools in the county!" Don't believe that stuff before reading this, first of all the staff are super prejudice, they will send you to the principles office for anything if you aren't what they want. The admins also make questionable choices, as their punishment barley match the act a student has done. Oh and the some of the admin may be prejudice to some students to. Parental involvement is at the minimum they have these things called conduct marks (which is frequently given out when a student does something bad) parents have to initial them when their child gets one initial and sign helping student get away with stuff without the parent noticing. The environment is bad, students there frequently have fights.

This school is only for “normal” children. If your child is autistic or has any social emotional challenges this school is not for you. As soon as your child’s disability inconveniences them they will smile while walking your and your child to the door and use every means to ensure that you and your child do not return.

This was my first school since I have been homeschooled in Africa. I introduced myself as” My name, and that im a girl.” They started howling in excitement I immediately ran out as all students and the teacher chased me on all four’s. I locked myself in the stall and I heard hissing, I started crying silently since I have never experienced this before. I came out after an hour and a girl comforted me and asked what was my next class, I told her and she lead me towards there. Normal classroom. The lights turned off and tried to escape, one of the howling boys were so kind enough to open up for me but still chased me on all fours. I ran home because I live a block away. I do not recommend, pls do not come here! Stay safe my girls.

They have been great with my son, and helped him develop into a great student.

Excellent school. We’ve seen many families move into other schools to get away from the fairly large ESOL contingent within these Cumming schools (Cumming Elementary, Otwell, Forsyth Central H.S.) only to be disappointed with the cliques and peer pressure environments of what they thought were “better”schools. Otwell has a lot of character, good leadership, a strong academic record and is a safe environment. We were extremely pleased with our decision to stay in these schools and are confident our child is on the right track as a result.

The environment and academics at Otwell Middle School are fantastic. We came from a very good and high level school district in another state, and we were not sure about the schools here. However, Otwell has fulfilled all of our expectations for a good education for our children. There is also kindness, respect and great energy from the staff. The kids don't feel "entitled" and work hard to meet their goals. I also like the fact that parents are always welcome and received with kindness and a smile. The nurse is also the best school nurse we have had. My kids could not be in better hands. Keep doing what you are doing. You are doing it right! We feel very blessed to be part of this school. Thank you for your great work!

Administration is not helpful at all and are not willing to help put you in touch with community resources. Asst. principal is a cognitive miser!
