As a former student, this is a wonderful school with carring teachers! They've released a lot of the 'older' teachers and brought in a new wave of young teachers who are even former students including my best friend who is an AMAZING gym teacher. She offers a diverse curriculum including yoga, dancing and interval training versus when I was a student it was the typical run around the track for 20 mins. Burke who was the principal completely turned the school around since he truely cares about the students.

Really 3.5...great basics, but need to focus on sustaining it throughout HS from MS.The curriculum of the MS is very good and overall they do a very good job of challenging students especially in Math. Unfortunately, I don't think the same caliber carries over into the HS. Also, if you do not place into the advanced level classes in MS it is hard to move up the chain even if you want to. As a small school, they do very well - but the school does suffer the disadvantages of a small school as well. There is a lack of resources allocated towards guidance staff and clubs. If your child is very bright - he/she will excel but not get the fulfilling education one would get at a bigger school. Teachers overreact to student behavior sometimes - hassling them for tedious things. Some teachers need to be reminded that to be respected and trusted one also has to earn it and show the students the same courtesy. Ending on a good note, Cresskill is a tight-knit community, which makes the school community very small and intimate. Outstanding MS curriculum - a focus on improving HS in terms of class selection and support system for college would make the HS as equally outstanding.
