The faculty at this school is absolutely ridiculous and leaves me dumbfounded just thinking about the things they have pulled. Specifically the principal is truthfully not good or helpful in her position. As a former student I dealt with her quite a bit as I was not a bad or malicious kid I was just a troubled one struggling with some pretty serious mental health issues for a middle school aged child and as much as the faculty tries to make it seem like they care, the only people that truly helped me there were some of my regular teachers. The principal, my former vice principal, and the guidance counselor there are/were in reality the most unprofessional people it was genuinely astonishing both then and now. I have talked to numerous former students of the principal from all different grade levels and I have always heard the same response that she is unfit for her position. She is completely rude to students that did not provoke her and simply doesn’t try to understand complex situations. She is prone to throwing out unreasonable punishments that do not fit the crime to students that just needed help not a detention. There was even a time when another kid I had some personal problems with went to her and lied about my friend and I getting into a physical fight apparently outside of the school at lunchtime, and instead of talking to my friend and I first to find out what happened or even checking the cameras to see if it was true, called our mothers first and told them that it did happen (again when she had no evidence and was just going off the word of a 13 year old) and then called my friend and I down later. I found out from my mothers angry and confused call before I was even called down to the office. If that doesn’t show basic unprofessionalism I don’t know what does. I won’t even go into how absolutely and insanely unhelpful the guidance office was because it just awful. They are prone to making situations worse for kids and just doing nothing to actually solve problems at its core because they don’t care. So many former student we’re genuinely traumatized by the lack of care the higher faculty had for the students other than what is required by law. It’s been a few years and i’m now writing this because it actually still bothers me what happens in this school and I hope that one day it will change so no more young teens and kids will have to go through what I and my peers experienced.

Very good school. My daughter has been supported and we have really seen an improvement. It’s a very safe school and the teachers do a great job.

School has serious issues with bullying and fights. If you need good education go somewhere else.

I am currently a student here and it's just absolutely horrible. I've been here all 8 years so it's not like I don't know what I'm talking about ... But if you ever think about moving to Dumont, don't. All of the schools were horrible except Grant (but only goes from K-5) let alone the town it's self is even worse. I highly recommend you do not attend this school for its lack of good teachers and principal/vice principal.
