Our family has been blown away by the teachers and staff at this school. Dr. Ervin is the best thing that has happened to this school. The amount of activities, after school programs, and educational opportunities has been amazing. I love that they are trying to make this a neighborhood school and recruit more families who live in this community

Adams Elementary is a great school! Dr. Erven has brought a lot of great programs to the school, he has been an amazing principal. Test scores have increased. Adams Elementary has some of the highest test scores in the district! The PTA is amazing! They work hard and put on some great events. The school is always trying to get the community involved. The teachers at Adams are the best! My son has had a great experience. He has been going to Adams since the 1st grade. I would highly recommend Adams over any charter or private school. The classroom sizes are small, typically 20 students or less. There are so many great programs at the school like Art Masters, Recess Art, Segerstrom has lots of great events like dancing. If you go the Adams Elementary website you will see their calendar of events. There are so many great programs there for the students. They just started at STEM program this year. Our new music teacher has started a drumline. The free afterschool program, Project Kids Connect, offers many great after school activities like soccer, dance, cooking, musical theater, and so much more. The school also has great guest speakers and guest performances. Overall, it is a great school!

My kids are halfway through their second year at Adams and we are very impressed with the staff and supportive environment. The teachers have been great. The family nights have been a highlight for our kids as well as for my husband and myself. Adams is full of amazing families and that seems to be growing year after year.

My children have been at Adams since TK and are now 1st graders. We have had a great experience with the teachers and have witnessed our children thriving! Additionally, in the last two years, with the new principal, we have observed improved communication, increased parent outreach and an overall increase in community at the school. Adams also offers expanded learning, a STEM program and a full time music teacher!

Have been so impressed by Adams school. My child just start there this year and we are blown away. The principal is amazing and very involved, the teachers are so attentive, loving, and warm, the parent involvement is 10/10. We are so excited to see how much this school grows and continues to reach its full potential. Also I’m the most beautiful and quiet neighborhood.

We started TK at Adams and are loving Miss Gealer and all the staff! Our daughter participates in music, STEM, and academics with so much excitement. She loves going to school and has improved her writing skills tremendously! We can’t speak more highly of the staff and programs at Adams.

My daughters are entering 3rd and 2nd this year. They have each been at the school since kindergarten. They are both excelling and reading several grades above the grade level that they are in. They both enjoy the musical theater, talent show, running club and many other extra curricular activities the school offers.

We had a rocky relationship with the school. The previous Principal, Gabe Del Real, seemed to run a good school, Stacy DeBoom-Howard seemed like she had no idea what she was doing. The PTA has way too many fundraisers and do not know how to clearly communicate with english-speaking parents. The Principal does not seem to know how to help her teachers when they are struggling. Susan in the office is great, bt when she is not there, the office falls apart and does not know what to do.

If your child is an English learner or in the autism program, this school is probably a good fit for you. If your child doesn't fall into those categories, run!

My daughter attends kindergarten here and we live in the neighborhood. After trying a private school and being unimpressed with the academics, I enrolled her here at Adams. The socio-economic divide is huge and proves to be a major distraction at this school. It doesn't provide a level playing field for the students learning environment. There is a lot of poverty and the english learners are getting left behind. If you look at the test scores, their proficiency levels aren't even at 50% of the student population. That means there is more failure than success. Does that sound like a positive learning environment for kids? Not to me. I tried to love it here but they need a whole lot more resources and restructuring to make this the school they want to be. I appreciate their efforts, but they are far from where they need to be.

Adams is an exceptional school. The staff is professional and Mr. Del Real ensures that both staff and students have 21st century technological skills. My 5th grader is experiencing rigorous curriculum through the 1 to 1 Chrome book program.

Wonderful school. Principal Del Real is professional and extremely personable. Teachers are dedicated, hardworking, and skilled. Curriculum is impressive. My only negative is that the school campus is not fenced due to neighborhood opinion. Neighbors don't want it fenced because of aesthetics and they like to have free-range access to the school/park after school hours. Not the schools fault. The district needs to fence the school in the interest of the children's safety, rather than appease the neighbors, who the majority don't have children in that school. Also would like to see more parent involvement.

THIS IS A 5 STAR/10 RATED SCHOOL in my eyes! I don't know where this "greatschools.org", third party site gets its "judging criteria", but its not from experienced educators! Its all advertising and the only people who are complaining here are the disgruntled parents that blame everyone else but themselves for their child's failure to thrive (um, get involved and stop complaining)! Look at our test score and stats break down...ESL students get the support and intervention they need and the English-as-a-first-language students are obviously being challenged. Diversity is the spice of life and we all learn and grow from stepping outside of our bubble once in awhile. We are a school that is united and NOT divided. My children are not only getting a high -quality academic experience, but also being taught the value of loving and respecting and making friends with ALL types of people from many different backgrounds and walks of life....and THAT is what makes Adams experience far superior to any other school!
