St. Mary's school is an amazing educational institution for the Cortland NY area. Not only does my son love going to school, but the fact he can go to school in a setting that encourages him to live his faith without fear is amazing. Many of the teachers are lifelong St. Mary's staff and parents as well which says a lot about their dedication to the school. The education the students receive and graduate with is outstanding and puts them in a very good position for when they leave and transition to Middle School. The Parent's Guild is a wonderful opportunity for parents to stay involved in the school and a great way to give back to the SMS family. As a parent, I have never regretted and have always stood firm in my decision to send my child to SMS!

Amazing School! My kids and I love this school. The staff is caring and dedicated to nurturing the children. The teacher’s enthusiasm for their jobs make the kids excited to learn. When you are a part of St. Mary’s you are a team of parent, family, and school. The child’s best interests are always considered and the constant encouragement to always try your best makes for a confident child. Highly recommend St. Mary’s to anyone looking for a school that encourages excellence, compassion, and community.

What and how the kids learn in school is wonderful. I especially love that the school gathers in the morning for Morning Prayers!

I had 2 children graduate from St Mary's. It was the best decision I ever made to send them there. They received a superior education which still has them at the top of their hs classes. The small, nurturing environment made our whole family feel at home there and gave my children security and confidence.

St. Mary's offers a solid spiritual and academic foundation. I so greatly valued my own experiences at St. Mary's School as a student, that I knew St. Mary's was the only place I wanted to teach when I began my teaching career. Years later, here I am in my second year of teaching at St. Mary's; I feel privileged to be a member of the St. Mary's Family!

I see graduates of St. Mary's meet with success in their chosen paths through life, be it academics, career, or a variety of work experiences. While academic achievement is strongly supported, the foundation of positive life values is well nurtured in a loving atmosphere with positive roll models. I am a graduate, parent of 2 graduates and grandparent of a current student.

My dad graduated in 1936 and I have carried on the family tradition and find St. Mary's to be a very family oriented school that teaches morals and religion.

I am both a parent and a retired teacher from St. Mary's School. I have been committed to St. Mary's School for the past 30 years....even now in my retirement. The school is 5 stars+. It is super caring, follows a guided, strict discipline, totally individualizes the curriculum for each student. Students feel secure, happy, strong and loved in this environment. It was a perfect match for my daughters, now in their 30's, married with children of their own. It was the best fit for me, as a teacher there for 25 years. Each day, I looked forward to being there....at the St. Mary's School and its family. Marsha Mason

It's family oriented and value centered. They can't teach the values that are important to me that public schools can't.

I love the Catholic Christian community in which I work - parents, teachers, students, staff, and administration. Everyone works very hard and is there to help whomever is in need. Jesus Christ is the reason for our school.

St. Mary's gives students the individualized attention that is often missing at public schools.
