We have had nothing but a positive experience at Cornelius! Even with virtual learning they have gone above and beyond to make things easy on students and teachers.

We have been at CES for over 4 years, and have several more to go with a younger student. I am very pleased with the faculty and staff at the school.

10/10 - The education my children have received at Cornelius Elementary has been exceptional. From the foundation built in Kindergarten all the way through to 5th grade - I know without a doubt they are prepared for 5th grade and beyond. I have been incredibly happy with and impressed with the teachers, faculty and staff! I know some day when my kids are all grown up they will look back fondly on their years at CES!

There are some very dedicated staff members at the school, and some who clearly don't want to be there. The class sizes are very large in some grades, approximately 30 students, which is just too large to create an ideal situation for students or teachers. Most teachers do the best they can with the resources they have. The school does have a significant amount of technology available, with Chromebooks for each student. The PTO is very active. The school could significantly improve by having consistent and clearly communicated policies about grading, teacher communication, etc.

CES is a small and older school, but it is a WONDERFUL school! The staff is 5 stars!! Principal Holbrook, teachers and staff are always so caring and very welcoming to students and parents. I feel so lucky and bless to be part of this school for over 7 years. I wouldn't want my children to go anywhere else. Thank you!

My oldest just finished at Cornelius and thrived throughout. She was WELL prepared for middle school and continues to excel. My middle and baby just began 5th and 3rd and love their school. They have access to many academic and fun extracurricular activities throughout their years at the school. We've loved each and every teacher in their own way, and how they've each contributed to my childrens' growth and development. A+ school! It really doesn't get better then this!

This is a wonderful school with caring, creative teachers. The school is older, but the technology the kids work with is very advanced and the school academic clubs win awards every year, so they must be doing something right! The PTA is very active, raises a lot of money and seems to always be adding something new to the school. There are a lot of opportunities for parents to participate in events with their kids. This is a really nice community school and we love it!

We have been at Cornelius for 3 years now, with our second child finishing her first year. We have seen nothing but support and dedication to both the children and the community. We considered other options, but feel there was a reason we moved to this area - good schools - and know Cornelius Elementary is the right place for us.

We moved to the area the summer before the 2017-18 school year. We were completely overwhelmed with all the options for school (public, charter, private) and found it was the first question people asked us when we met. After our eyes practically bled from reading so many reviews and opinions on the internet we threw up our hands and said, "we're doing the public school!" It was the best decision we could have made. Our son has thrived, made friends (as have I and my husband), our teacher was FANTASTIC, and we have felt at home the minute we walked in the doors. We personally experienced uncomfortable situations being dealt with swiftly and professionally and always in the best interest of the children. We are so thankful for Cornelius Elementary and plan on being there for the long haul.

I have three children in this school. Issues that crop up, whether it's behavioral, academic or social, have always been dealt with quickly and appropriately. I feel very good about the education and overall experience they are getting at Cornelius.

Our family is very happy at Cornelius Elementary. The teachers are caring, creative and dedicated. Class sizes are good and there are many opportunities for academic and artistic enrichment. The diversity and focus on character has helped my kids learn to be responsible, accountable and kind. There’s a lot of chatter out there about private/charter/public schools, but as far as I am concerned there is no need to trouble yourself with lotteries with this school as an option. It’s a fantastic school right in your neighborhood!

I have been blown away by this school! I honestly feel so lucky - it’s the right mix of the community, the staff is always smiling. We will not be applying to charters this year beause it’s been so good. My son is ahead in every subject and his teacher gives him more challenging work to meet his academic progress.

10 Stars, fantastic leadership and a long term/proven commitment to excellence. A 5 star rating for this school is ludicrous. The 1 star ratings are clearly fake. This an attempt by those associated with Charter schools to demean Cornelius Elementary's stellar 70+ year reputation in hopes of garnering and diverting funding towards their " unproven science experiment" of a school. Sad...

The principal/staff are more focused on their cell phones then teaching the students! The staff needs improvement and discipline!!! Hopefully STAFF and things improves!!!
