This is the worst school in Rockdale Ga. Please close this school down or put better teachers and front office personnel. I feel so sorry for the kids with learning disabilities. This school is more focused on the kids without one. Rockdale please do better. I wish I can put my house up for sale just to move to a better school district.

So far not liking it at all. Bringing my child from a theme school where the kids were under control to this isnt ok. My child has been exposed to cursing kids, kids who sit up and talk about each other all day. My child doesnt even want to go to school anymore and in 5 years this has never happened. They dont have a teacher and have a sub each day I could go on but why. You never know what you had until it's gone.

The teachers are caring, Ms. Robinson, Ms. Moore, Ms. Mann are just some of the great teachers at Peeks Chapel. My kids feel safe, I feel like they are learning. My only issue is the lack of after school or during school extracurricular clubs and programs.

Peek's Chapel Elementary School, Conyers, GA What a great school, the staff and the students work as a team. I love the staff and how they relate to the parents, keeping us informed of events and happenings at school. Communication is what is offered at Peek's Chapel Elementary. Caring about our kids!

The school is continuing on a downward spiral. There are certainly a handful of great teachers but for the most part the staff could certainly use some upgrading. It is very upsetting when your child brings home work produced by teachers that has poor grammar and/or spelling when they are supposed to be teaching these things.

I absolutely LOVE Peeks Chapel! Excluding my son's 1st grade teacher, who wouldn't return emails in a timely and professional manner, and avoided me whenever she would see me in the halls (she is now the ) I love every teacher he has had since then. He is now in 4th grade and doing well. Each teacher "know and cares" about his academic well being, in and out of school. They have gone above and beyond to make sure that he has the materials he needs to succeed. They are supportive, understanding of his academic needs and truly do care. I wish they had middle school grades, because I would let him stay right where he is until high-school!

I love the school I've had issues with several Teachers but those two does not represent the entire school. My son is happy there this year and doing well

I have kids in this school for the past 8 years. Peeks Chapel is a good school; however, it is far from what it was when we moved here in 2005. Back then, it was GREAT. Nowadays, you can walk into this school on any given day and see the office staff toddlers running around the front office. To me, this is sooo unprofessional and tacky as hell. The principal is has a good heart; however, he seems to have hired some of the most tired looking teachers and unprofessional staff to teach/work with our kids. Before I close, I must mentioned the recently hired ISS teacher at Peek's is far more intimidating that he should be for the kids at this school. After all this not the Southside of DeKalb.

I really love Peeks Chapel I have a child there in 3rd grade who has just been blossoming with her teachers! The principal is really supportive, as well as other teachers who work tirelessly with my child and other students. My daughter is also involved in harp.& choir this year, and I have to say the music teacher is phenomenal with them. We used to be in.APS which used to have strong music programs but, not any harps. Though I will say she needs more support from staff, she does a great job especially with limited resources and help. Also my daughter loves her art teacher! Keep up the great work Peeks!

My boys entered Peeks Chapel in the 3rd grade from Dekalb County School District. Their grades were way below average and I was sure that they would be left behind but the teachers and Staff didn't except that. Every program that was available was offered to me for my boys. I worked with teachers and staff who worked OT to make sure that their grades were improved. I watch them them create a plan of action, set goals and expectations for my boys.It was if they were working together to save someone's life..and in a way they were. It sadden my heart to know that these same programs were offered in other School Districts but were never mentioned or offered for my boys. My boys are now in 5th grade, preparing for Middle School with their eyes on College. I can't name names in this review but you know who you are. From the the office to the library, gym, teachers and aides.. You made a difference in my Twins life and you also renewed my belief and Trust in the School System. Thank you for caring, for sharing, letting me cry and vent. Thank You and Kudos to PEEK"S CHAPEL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!

This was our first and will be our last year at PCE. As this school year comes to a close, I have begun coming to lunch as often as my schedule permits. I wish someone would tell the faculty and staff that berating children will not improve their behavior. To me the loud chatter and laughter of the cafeteria sounds like happy children. They have 2 assigned ladies (I use that term loosely) to get in the mic and "talk smack" to the children about how "they don't know how to be good, etc." My children had never been in such a "tense, negative" environment and they're coming home nervous wrecks. Last week another faculty member was threatening the car riders that if they didn't act better, she was going to put them on a bus. My 2nd grader came out that day a nervous wreck, thinking she would put him on bus and I wouldn't know about it. My 5th grader is heavily involved in the music program, much to my regret. The last two Mon. we have had her there for Chorus at 7:05 AM, only for the teacher to decide not to have it. However, no communication seems to be the norm. At a production earlier in the year, parents weren't given any info in order to attend this "production."

I am very disappointed with certain staff they have chosen this year. It is sad to have teachers that are untrained/minimal experience with children. My child has been instantly stereotyped because the teacher assumed they were having issues in the home and labeled them as a child that might have ADHD. All children play around my child is 5 yrs old in K, they might be setting standards a little to high for little kids when it comes to behavior I want my child to properly be introduced with discipline before being treated like a 5th grader. Also I speak for some of the teachers room assistants are just as worst with children they yell at the children instead of acting like helpers I have witnessed it at a field trip and im sad that I can not put the names of the two i am speaking particular about because of they're actions this year my child will not be returning to peeks chapel

There are some great teachers at this school. However, so far my family has been disappointed in the lack of communication with the 5th grade teachers. They have responded neither to notes nor e-mails.

This is a great school. The teachers are very involved with the students progress both academically and socially. I have two children, one will be entering kindergarten and the other 2nd grade in the fall of 2011.

This is my sons first year in this school and I think everyone from the teachers to the office is WONDERFUL! Everyone is more than friendy and most of all professional. His teacher Mr. John Smith is OUTSTANDING. I hope that Mr. Smith will be teaching 2nd grade next year! I am really pleased

Peeks Chapel is a wonderful school. My oldest daugher has attended K-5th there and my youngest Pre-K-2nd. The teachers are involved with the students and as with any school, parents are encouraged to get involved. If they do not, teachers cannot do it all of course. One note - another parent mentioned that the principal goes by his first name. "Toney" is his last name and not once in 5 years of him being assistant principal or principal have I seen a student call him by his first name. Also, the students are given a nutritional alternate lunch or breakfast if there is no balance on the account.

Just to clarify this comment, the public schools contract with the company who provides meals. It is not the school or teacher's decision to withhold food. The food service company also delivers automated messages to parents at home to warn them that their child's account is in default before withholding food. Unfortunately, many parents do not choose to send food from home as an option when they have not taken care of account balances. In order to continue providing free and reduced meals, the company has to maintain income.

My kids are new to Peek's Chapel and as a parent I'm already dissappointed in the school and in the principal. I have never heard a principal tell students to call him by his first name. Nor have I heard of the luchroom taking a child's breakfast or luch away from a child because they may have a negative luch acct. They don't know what a child's parent is going thru and they may feel they only way they can eat is at school, but we see that's not true. I come from a county that really cares about the child even if their acct is negative they still get to eat. I need to find out what Peek's Chapel Elementary grade is...is an A,B,C,D or an F.

As a parent, I love Peek's Chapel Elementary School because of the most professional and caring teachers i have ever seen. Examples of those teachers would be Mrs. Griffin and Mrs. Roddenberry. My daughter loves those two ladies and they have my utmost respect and admiration.
