We relocated from New Jersey so that our eighth grade daughter could attend Aim Academy. We are very happy with our decision. Aim's teachers, administrators and staff are knowledgable, approachable and friendly. They consistently perform progress monitoring to identify learning strengths and challenges and to help each student progress. Each students is seen as an individual at Aim and they offer a variety of classes and electives so students get a well rounded education but can also focus on their interests. Aim stays up to date with educational research and practices and offers frequent workshops, informative sessions and symposiums for the parents and community at large. As a new family we feel supported and valued.

Awesome teachers! Our son has been at AIM for 3 years now after being diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD. Each year he has had an amazing and knowledgable team of teachers that support his leaning needs in a classroom and 1:1 setting. We are thrilled with the progress he has made academically, socially and emotionally. Love seeing his sense of pride since attending AIM. Perfect fit for our son!!

The head of school isn't ready for the job by making fun of kids multible times and some teachers are very sexist and bias about certain topics. Teachers take sides.

Worthy of the highest marks! My son moved to AIM during winter break of his freshman year. Suffering from Dysgraphia, a deficiency in written expression, Tyler is now a senior, co-captain of the varsity basketball and soccer teams and fully engaged and ready for college. He is able to express himself with more clarity and has enjoyed the smaller classrooms and unique way of learning AIM has provided.Their recruiting of a trained faculty staff and continuous goal to find better ways to prepare its students has been rewarding for Tyler and my family. AIM's campus atmosphere is contagious in all the right ways.My father loved to tell me that the shiniest diamonds are found in your backyard. AIM shines brightest for us.Maybe it can for your family too.

The 1st grade teacher, Miss O'Reilly, is an amazing teacher because of the passion she has for her students and the enthusiasm she brings to her classroom every day. If there were more teachers like her, this country would have a bright future.

AIM Academy is a transformative environment. Our son came to AIM Academy in 9th grade after struggling mightily in his former middle school environment. Although he has language based learning differences he was reluctant to come to AIM. Once he entered into the Doors of AIM everything changed and he became a successful learner and his confidence soared. He is so grateful for the opportunity to go to school here. AIM gave him tangible tools for change and growth as a learner while bolstering the stregnths that were already there. The tangible evidence of research based programming like Wilson Reading, Language therapy and caring teachers providing a live it - learn it methodology have shown us quantifiable improvement in his reading and writing scores. As a Parent, I especially like seeing a report card reflect this progress showing us data of progress or lack thereof. AIm always offers other approaches to learning if the student isn't responding to a particular method. We are so grateful for this very special research based best practices school for children who learn differently!! Parent

We are beyond thrilled with AIM. Our daughter started during the summer prior to her 1st grade year. She was not able to identify all the letters of the alphabet, did not know any numbers and was VERY resistant to school. Now she is engaged, excited to go to school and learning in leaps and bounds. She can read CVC words, knows all her letters and is excelling at Math. We love AIM and feel so fortunate to have our daughter at the school.

After 3rd grade, my son could hardly read the word, and. He was diagnosed with a visual processing speed disorder, and accepted to AIM for 4th grade. He is now in 7th grade, and I cannot tell you what a difference having him at this school has made. The teachers are AMAZING. He now reads at grade level, and his math skills are above grade level. AIM also has an incredible robotics program, which has captured my son s imagination and enthusiasm. Not only does he have the opportunity to design and build really cool robots (and to meet and talk with inspirational figures such as real-live rocket scientists), his robotics teacher has helped him understand the importance of applying himself and doing well in all areas of academics. My son no longer feels stupid, and he is no longer the bad kid. As for all the kids, his talents are nurtured, and his struggles are addressed, without drama or shunning, one step at a time. I would recommend this school to anyone. My only hope is that this type of education becomes available to all children who need it in the very near future!

Our son had disastrous 1st and 2nd grade years at an area private school. He was at the bottom of the class in reading, and the classroom teachers made sure our son and the other 12 boys in the classroom, knew it. We brought in a private consultant and she recommended the AIM summer program. By the end of AIM s four-week summer program, the change in our son was nothing short of a miracle. He made significant progress in reading and math and he had a lead role in the summer play. The change was so dramatic that we enrolled him in AIM for September. Our son is now in 4th grade at AIM. We have found the AIM facility to be an amazing group of professional educators who really take a personal interest in each of their students. The instructional ratios of teacher to students in subject classes are 1:5, or less. Before and after the start of every unit the teachers take data to monitor how the students are progressing, and then act on that data. Our son is now completing the last book in the Harry Potter series, his math is above grade level and his self-confidence to take risks has returned. We are very grateful for the recommendation to consider AIM Academy.

AIM Academy has had an impact on our life in so many positive ways! Our son Seamus transitioned to AIM mid-year just over two years ago. As a child who prefers routine, Seamus dislikes transitions so we had a lot of hesitation moving him, especially right in the middle of an academic year. Everyone at AIM however was so supportive, understanding our circumstances and focusing on making this a change for the better for us all. Well, on the first day I picked Seamus up from school, I found him smiling ear to ear. My husband and I were as relieved as we were grateful! Seamus has since gone from being a below-average math student to above-average at grade level. His reading has improved, and even more importantly, he s now able to express himself with more confidence -- something with which he really struggled even just a year ago. We really can t thank AIM enough for so profoundly affecting our lives. The entire experience has been so richly rewarding.

Given a recently posted review, I think it is important to provide an informed perspective on AIM Academy s approach to professional development. AIM Academy prides itself on its commitment to professional learning. Not only do AIM educators receive training in specialized programs such as Wilson Reading, RAVE-O and LIPS but they also have opportunity to hear from and work directly with researchers and authors who are considered experts in the field. Since September, authors Melissa Farrall and Peg Dawson have shared their knowledge on reading assessment and executive function. This spring, well-known researcher Steve Graham will address writing strategies. AIM teachers recently hosted Elaine Cheesman, the author of Dr. Cheesman s App Chat for IDA and Nancy Dyson, the co-developer of Number Sense Interventions. All participate in focused professional learning communities. AIM lives by Michael Fullan s principle for forward thinking organizations; Learning is the work. I know because I have had the privilege of working with AIM faculty for several years. Nancy Hennessy Director of Academic and Professional Practices Past President International Dyslexia Association

As a teacher here, I would like to paint a picture of AIM Academy, a school whose driving force is the education of students with learning differences. Every day I have the privilege of being surrounded by energetic, motivated and knowledgeable educators who give their all to their students and work long hours to do so. It's not many places where teachers willingly give up their prep periods, lunches, and free time to provide students with extra support. These teachers truly know their students and use their access to in-house professional development and specialists in the field to enhance their repertoire of teaching skills. It's also a highly collaborative environment, where teachers are encouraged to work together with the sole purpose of achieving better results for the students that they serve. The teachers are Wilson certified, a process that involves a year-long practicum program provided 1:1 along with seminar instruction and online coursework. However, AIM is more than just the programs that it offers. It is a unique place to work and I feel very fortunate to be a part of such an amazing community of teachers, parents, staff members, and most of all students!

This school is better than many and in a very nice building. This school has fabulous marketing, but be very wary of their skills and tactics. The teachers are Wilson Certified in less than a day and have very little experience with complex teaching challenges. They specialize in learning disabilities but have a reputation for kicking kids out if they believe the child won't help their statistics. There reputation in the teaching community is suspect. You can find schools that have more trained teachers and do not use punitive tactics on children.

AIM Academy is a dynamic learning environment where students with learning differences will truly exceed. The faculty and staff are deeply committed to understanding and connecting to each students needs and contributing to each individuals achievements. The state of the art facilities and dynamic environment empowers each student to recognize and achieve their full potential. My daughter first entered the school with low self confidence and an unsure future because of her learning struggles. AIM has taught her self discipline, self advocacy, and self confidence. They are leaders in the latest research based instruction for students with learning disabilities and the specialized instruction is preparing my child to be able to attend college. She has started a service club at the school and started her own business which has led her to do public speaking events and even earn awards. She now has the confidence and knows she will have a successful future. AIM has truly transformed my daughter, and we are lucky and fortunate to be able have the school in our area. Thank you AIM Academy.

This is NOT a one-size-fits-all-school! AIM builds 21st century academic bedrock and accountability in their students. Learning differences are recognized and addressed utilizing proven teaching methods. Students ARE challenged but also encouraged to shift up or down so mastery in an academic area is solidified. It's inspiring to attend their STEAM (the "A" stands for Art! ) Fair and see 21st century teaching, technology and learning manifested in the incredible student projects. Evident too is the pride seen in the students and their healthy camaraderie. Faculty and staff are smart and not "stuck" in what "was". This is a school that is moving forward and committed to educating college bound students (grades 1-12) AND current and future teachers in documented best practices for learning differences. We are so fortunate (and thankful) to have a student at AIM!!!

Watching something grow before your eyes is amazing. No I'm not a parent; I'm not even married. I spent six years as a student at AIM; I was apart of the first year and I am a member of the first graduating class of AIM. In June 2012, I got on stage and said, "I am not only leaving AIM with a diploma in hand but with the ability to succeed and change the world." I believed it then and I believe it now. I would not be in college if it was not for AIM. Pat Roberts and Nancy Blair, the co-founders of AIM, helped shape my life and made me the man that I am today. I left AIM as a man on a mission. Over my time at AIM, I not only learned how to read and write, but I also how to find my confidence. At Elizabethtown College, I have written for the school paper and I currently host my own radio show and my own television show, which I write for as well. I'm going to be honest, college is not easy; but with the education that I received from AIM and help that I still get as an alumni, I have been successful. My name is Jon Fuiman, I am a member of AIM's first graduating class, Class of 2012 and I am going to be apart of Elizabethtown's graduating Class of 2016.

Remarkable. My son has been at the school since its first year with only 23 kids and 8 years later he is complaining that it is still small with 250+ kids. However, he has tremendous struggles with reading and memory and is now able to feel good about himself and find things he is great at. If only every child could be taught to learn the way they do it at AIM.

AIM Academy is a college preparatory school that provides a student with the latest innovative individualized teaching for every student resulting in fearless learning. My daughter attended a private school who didn't identify her learning differences. Consequently, she struggled daily. At AIM, classwork & homework go hand-in-hand using a team approach. Her transformation has been amazing. We are very blessed to be a part of the AIM Academy family.

AIM Academy is a school like no other! We moved our son to AIM two years ago and we could have never imagined that he would be learning so much and understanding concepts that had been challenging for him in his previous school environment, Prior to coming to AIM our son was stressed out and did not look forward to going to school each day. Almost immediately after starting AIM he reported that "the way that they teach me makes things more organized in my brain". He became excited about learning and his self esteem was reflected on the fact that he was proud of his academic accomplishments and the fact that AIM has provided him with the tools to work around and deal with areas that always had presented challenges for him in the classroom. Because of AIM and the way that they are setting our son up for success beyond school and in the real world, the sky is the limit in terms of how he will go on to be successful and have a positive impact in the world. Prior to AIM Academy, we would never believe what is truly going to be possible! There is not a day that we are not thankful that we were referred to AIM and that it became a option / reality not just for our son, but for our family!

It's remarkable the change in my son in just these first few weeks of second grade. Last year he wouldn't pick up pen and paper now he's writing birthday cards and I love you notes. I feel as though we got our little boy back and I am so thankful that AIM exists. I would recommend the school to any family looking for an exceptional educational experience and caring community for their child with learning differences.
