    Conover School is a place where each student is made to feel successful in his/her own way. There is an emphasis on academic as well as functional skills.

    Conover School is a public separate school for students with special needs. We serve three school districts in Catawba County, Hickory City Schools, Newton Conover City Schools and Catawba County Schools. We serve 130 students from the ages of 3 to 22 years old. We have a caring and nurturing staff that strives to help our students be as independent as possible. Lessons are differentiated to meet the needs of each individual student. Our students are taught academics as well as life skills they will use after they leave Conover School. We also give our students the opportunity to participate in community based instruction which prepares them for the future.
