The administrators were not supportive of the teachers. They frequently went against the teachers and disregarded safety concerns about students. After a student threatened to shoot a teacher, the student was not even given a suspension. Another students sexually harassed a fellow student and nothing was done about it because the administrators said "boys will be boys". The school did not promote safety, social emotional learning, or collaboration. Students with special education requirements regularly did not have their needs met. Teachers were frequently expected to stay and work outside contracted hours. When teachers didn't they fell behind and got negative remarks from admin on their records. I do NOT recommend anyone to work in this environment where admin pitted teachers against each other, students against teachers and admin versus teachers. It was a highly competitive toxic environment.

We fell in love with the ces community of teachers and staff. There are so many fun activities that involve family throughout the year. Safety is a huge priority. My daughter absolutely loves it. The principal is always out and about engaging with the students. She is an absolutely amazing leader.

Concord Elementary is a great place to send your child. My child has received a great education so far.

Reviews do not lie.. Good ones and bad ones.. Teachers are nice, but the school as whole stinks.. Seriously, reconsider this school before jumping in. I have a daughter who has several health issues and she has been treated like a rat. A substitute made fun of her in front of the whole class, just because she could not hear what was being said. They do not return phone calls and if you go over there head to get a phone call, they will give you nothing but problems.. Which is fine with me because everything I do is documented. The new principle has taken the fun out of school ( yes school is suppose to be for learning, but they are elementary kids and need to remember there days as children too.) They are kids. They are not drones they are children. I believe this school expects so much perfection that they themselves forgot they have flaws. The new principle has her thong on way to tight in my opinion. This is a school that you are either in the in crowd or the out.. if you are in the inny then you will be loved. If you are on the outside then you will have nothing but problems.. I only gave them a three because the teachers so far can seem to be good.

I have two children currently enrolled at CES. The administration has had a complete makeover in the last 2 years for the better. My daughters participate in the Title 1 program. This is a program that assists children who can not read "on level" with their classmates. The teachers in that program are amazing. They are well trained and submit reports as to the children's progress. The communication between the teachers and parents is amazing. In addition to the normal parent/teacher conferences, both of my children's teachers (they are in different grades) have made themselves available before and after school...letting me know about successes as well as struggles, without me asking! I am so proud to be a part of this school and my girls have shown great improvement because of the teachers and administration.

I have a special needs child that the school basically ignored the whole year. When I asked for special provisions for the SOL - I was denied. The principal kept telling me I needed to allow my son to be tested so he could prove that he had learned. He failed all of his SOL tests and then we get a letter stating he needs to go to summer school because of his remedial SOL scores. Really? We're enrolling him in another school. If your child is blessed to not have any learning difficulties, you may be okay here, otherwise, seek another school.

My daughter started kindergarten at 4 years old because of a late birthday and is currently going into the 3rd grade and makes the principal's list on her report card and will also be entering the odessey program for the gifted. She didn't have any preschool or pre-kindergarten prior to entry. The teachers she has had have been wonderful and the rest of the staff have been really nice always greeting with smiles. She loves it and so do we! My husband attended Concord Elem as a child and enjoyed it then also. The new renovations are beautiful as well. The classes are great sizes, not too large, so each child gets individual attention. They also show support for the community in allowing the fire dept and rescue squads come in once a year to teach fire safety and prevention, which is also critical. I am a proud parent of a Concord Elem student!!!

they gave me a lot of problems i plan to transfer my child to another school as soon school year is over. This is not the school for my child. the teachers are really nice though and i like them very much very friendly but the rest definitely not. i cant wait till my child gets out of there. i plan to transfer her to a better school with more programs and more caught up in education and hopefully better and more understanding principals.

I have children that have attended Concord from kindergarten thru 5th grade. Most of the teachers are great. They do not have a great special ed program and when we had to transfer our children to another school because we moved I noticed they were extremely behind the rest of the children at the new school. I really enjoyed my children attending Concord but had second thoughts after they transferred out to another location. I did have a few issues with the principal that falsified information on a few occasions when I questioned him about yelling at some of the children. Other than that, I would give the school a #5 on a scale for 1-10. Most of the teachers are very friendly. I wouldn't call it the best school to choose but if you are in the area of Concord it is one of the better ones. Hope this helps!
