This school is horrible. The only focus they have is on catching kids doing things wrong. They are so short staffed (because administration here is horrendous they can’t keep teachers). The kids have had multiple teachers quit mid class and they get thrown into online classes , which turn into enginuity (which is essentially just a few videos with quizzes after them) to get the credits. They have completely unresponsive guidance counselors (although last I knew they only has 1-2 for the entire store) and other administrators. You can’t even reach anyone to make changes to busing, etc. They have good special educators, however the administration makes changes without the knowledge of case managers and parents leading to the plans not being followed. They are not preparing kids for higher education, they just want to get them out of the school. It is really sad. I wish we weren’t districted to this school. Unfortunately because concord is not accessible without a car, if the parent works, the child has no way to actually participate in school choice. I have searched and searched but I don’t have anything good to say about this school. They really need to start focusing on educating the whole child. Social, emotional Heath and wellbeing matter too. And ensuring these kids know they can do anything they want with their lives.. it’s so important and no one at this school is doing this for these kids. No wonder they are fighting all the time and getting in trouble. They aren’t being supported here at all. Get it together WCHS. You are failing these kids!

This school is horrible. They don’t know how to teach kids with learning disability’s that has in IEP If I knew this was gonna happen, I would’ve kept my child in the school that she was in instead of letting her go to the school they are redistrict her to but I thought it could have been a good chance to seeing if the school is going to work out for her which is not. I understand school is not supposed to have drugs but there is and, apparently that is their focus For catching people with drugs. This school reminds me of the movie lean on me. They just have not gotten a good principal or a good staff that can keep the kids engaged.

This is a terrible school to go to. They are violent and not helpful whatsoever. And they always have fights—@westcabarrusfights on Twitter or Instagram. So don't send your child there I know because I'm a sophomore at this school and I went there when the school opened up for in-person classes during the mask provisions for COVID-19. So yes very bad. Don't Go There.

My daughter had a wonderful experience here. The former and current principals and staff were wonderful. We had an amazing guidance counselor and some of the best, most caring teachers of her school career. She had an amazing experience here and will always treasure her high school experience.
