I am the mom to a son who went to Marcus. I was very concerned and unsure of the place but was down to little to no options left for my son. Marcus school and staff turned out to be a Godsend. Staff was dedicated, committed professional. They came up with a plan for my son that we agreed upon and worked with him.Kids go to Marcus because they are struggling with something... a variety of reasons. People mention test scores are low. Come on now... your kid is here because there’s a bigger problem than low test scores! They address these issues and they really help kids succeed. It was a blessing for our family. I am very grateful for our time at Marcus

I started going to Marchus in the end of my 7th grade years, and left after my 9th grade year. For the most part, i really enjoyed my time at this school. I came to this school very anti-social, depressed and lonely. And after a couple months i started to open up. I was able to make new friends and work on my coping skills. I think Marchus helped grow up and reach out. It's a school i both loved and hated. It's a challenging school in it's own way, but the staff is like family.

The rating of the school as a 5 of 10 is grossly inappropriate. Marchus is not easy to compare with other schools as it does not service regular school children. The children at Marchus struggle with a wide array of disabilities, including Autism and therefore, standardized testing shows little of this school. The reality is Marchus is a wonderful school for children who are emotionally and mentally challenged and it provides a well rounded academic and therapeutic program. This school changes lives.
