As a mom, I think this school is a pretty good school! I seen a lot of people saying it only for white people but I don’t believe that because I seen my son make lots of friends with having blonde hair or white skin tone. But, I have also have seen that the kids at that school are judgmental. But, the other day, my child came and cried to me. I asked him “ What’s wrong?” He tells me the librarian there was embarrassing him in front of his class and was being picky. He also told me that her tone sounded mean. I don’t know the full situation but, I won’t allow my child to feel that way.

This school is awful. Having put 2 kids through here over more than a decade I have witnessed first hand the rigor and pride decline at Quail Lake, all the while their pick up and drop become more dangerous. It is a miracle no one has died here yet. The male teachers especially are absolutely by far the worst. Sloppy, ego driven, and waiting out their time to retire. Quail Lake is not a great school, it is not even a good school.

We have had a wonderful experience at this school from Kindergarten on up. My kids love both the teachers, and the staff, and have thrived both academically, and socially. My son has some special needs that I don’t really care to go into on this site, but teachers have been very understanding, and helpful.

This is a fantastic school. Teachers, students, parents, and principals involvement in the school. Great place for your student to learn and succeed.

This school is the perfect example of how poor our school system is. My child should be going into junior high next year. We are moving out of state so she had to take a placement test for both public and private schools. I was not worried as she is on the honor roll at this and after all this is a charter school right.? However she tested at a 4-5th grade level. She was of course very upset and disappointed in herself. It took a lot of effort from us and the teachers at the new schools to reassure her that this could be fixed and that she is not stupid. My child has been cheated of a basic education under the guise of receiving an exceptional one. I informed the Principal of these findings and she scoffed at this, said she's never heard of placement testing, and that her students were prepared for college prep courses in high school. Be weary about this school. Some of the teachers and staff are good and kind but unfortunately most only care about getting through the day and receiving their paycheck. The office staff seems to not know what is going on when asked questions about activities going on at the school. Also the nurse at the school seems like she has it together but if she is not there common sense on health issues is completely out the window. Here are Two fun filled examples; my child fell off the monkey bars and broke her arm, things happen, it's a right of passage however the staff did NOT notify me and made her stay the rest of the day at school. They said she didn't cry enough for a broken arm so they didn't believe her when she said she couldn't move it without severe pain. I of course took her immediately to the emergency room for X-rays and treatment. They also called a truancy meeting with me because I did not provide a doctors note for the three days she missed following when she had to return to the emergency room to have her arm reset and then the visits to the orthopedic doctor so she could get her cast on. I was reminded at the meeting that without the doctors note the school would not get paid for her. I refused to provide the note out of disgust. The second incident was the missed doses of antibiotics. My child had pneumonia and had returned to school with three days left on the prescription. They forgot to give it to her, sent me a letter to pick them up a week later and yes she got sick again.

Quail Lakes Charter school is simply amazing!Sanger Unified has came a long way and now ranked as one of the best in the Valley. They only need 1 charter that is doing it's job.Yes they are doing something right and coping Clovis. Clovis is still the best.Whereas, Fresno Unified is poor performing and has many charters being shut down for performance or funding. If you are going to chose a charter school and can't get into Clovis or Central Unified, Quail lakes is it!Parents are awesome. Some may say they are clicky but that is because they know each other but once you get to know everyone it's great. You're there for your kids. The teachers are inspiring and fantastic. They do fun things all the times, field trips and hour long lunches.Sometimes 3 recesses and 1 hr.If we were not at Valley Oak in Clovis we'd still be there. The administration and office can be a stuck up but who cares. All schools have their issues but I rather have that than having people who are lazy and don't communicate with parents or kids. The kids are fantastic.Parents get as excited as the kids when their children succeed and they deserve all the recognition they get.Quail Lakes is simply the best in the Valley.

It is true, without blond hair or light skin color you will not be acknowledged at this school. Discrimination is not subtle here. You know it's bad when the staff members don't even want to greet you with a "hi" or a "good morning" ever. There a few exceptional staff members but the rest are awful, snooty as they come. When it comes to school curriculum and teaching, it seems that kids are going home more confused than educated. Every year the standards change, the methods they've learned to do things the prior year are then told to be forgotten because they are doing it different in the new. There isn't enough one on one time with the teacher to make sure each student understands the concepts, and some teachers simply don't care. This is definitely our last year here. The school looks great on the surface but it is poorly run and staff are not professional enough to set aside their discriminatory behavior. Again, most, not all staff members are that way.

I am currently in the seventh grade at Quail Lake and I love it here I've been going here since I was in first grade and I only had good experiences, the teachers here are so wonderful I love the school it is a good school to go to, because they teach us a lot, and have a really good test scores. It is a really good experience if you go here because the kids here are so nice, and the teachers here really are passionate for teaching him of what they do. Her teachers live by the quote"Any child any day the matter what it takes", they really embrace that and they live by that pretty much every day. You should go to this school is the best school I've been to. I have also been to freedom elementary when I was in kindergarten and I had a really really bad experience, so when I got to the school my whole idea of school changed. Now I love school!!!!

This school is a school of white kids. You have to be blonde and white skinned to go here or you stand out. Their football is mediocre. My boys are leaving next year to attend Clovis Elementary where they can play football and be accepted.

Quail Lake is one of the best school, very friendly staff and teachers, the class size is small, they have high technology gadgets such as Ipad and laptop for students. My kids are doing well and maintained good grades.

I attended Quail Lake from the time that I was in 2nd grade to my graduation from 8th. I wasn't a perfect athelete. I wasn't a perfect student. I wasn't the cool kid. I wasn't normal. I suppose in retrospect that this means I had no place in Quail Lake. The students sure thought that. Students at Quail Lake are truly harsh. They will ridicule you if you have the slightest defect. The teachers will more often than not encourage this ridicule. The school seems to place no value on true education. They simply ensure that enough students learn that they can keep their precious test scores up. Quail Lake really isn't a very good school. The only way you will fit in is if you are blond, blue eyed, white, perfection in all ways. Oh, and you need to have helicopter parents.

I am an 8th grade student at Quail Lake Environmental Charter School. I have been at QL all my life, and -- sadly -- this is my last year at the school I have grown to love. I began in kindergarten as an ADHD student. I was loud and obnoxious. I was a very hards student, and, at another school, I would have been labeled as a disabled learner. I was not labeled that at QL. Just the opposite. I was given work that would hold my attention and get me to grasp the concepts that I was suppose to be learning. From kindergarten up, I have been improving. This school has given me the tools to learn at the advanced level and I would have it no other way. I go to this school for academics, not for friends. I am not saying I don't have friends either. If I was asked to rate my school those stars above this review would not even cut it. This school is a blessing for any child that has exceptional gifts and for any child that is ambitious but needs help reaching goals. I would recommend this school to someone who plans to send their child to a #1 college. I esteem my school and am proud to go there. To be a Falcon is to be a privilage.
