My kid just graduated from Diablo View Middle School, Clayton. As a parent we are extremely satisfied over the last 3 years with the Middle School. In our opinion this school should be rated 10/10 or at least 9/10 because of these reasons : (1) No discrimination by teachers or other students (2) Very safe in the school and safe neighborhood (3) Teachers are great - lot of teaching experience, they keep the kids engaged with homework and project work. (4) They encourage the kids and helps them to perform better and excel. Like they offer Advanced Maths curriculum. At the end of the day, it also depends on the kid, if they want to put the extra effort to excel.

So happy the principal finally retired although now can’t say much about the new principal. Caught on social media… the PFC is defiantly a ‘ club’ not the PTA. Some great teacher, some just getting a pay check & should retire. Not a great learning involvement.

This school ruined my whole middle school life. The staff do NOTHING to stop bullying or racism. Some teachers are good but some aren´t. Racism is a HUGEEEE deal this, but staff do nothing. Kids also smoke and vape in the bathroom. If you don´t want to get your kid to get bullied or feel sad everyday coming back from school, then DO NOT go here. I, myself went to this school and let say bullying and racism is too much at this school. It ruined my life.

As a parent of an incoming sixth grader, be wary of this school. Be prepared to talk and inquire about homework, tests, assignments. Their motto is to let the student be the communicator and solver of their own education not the parent, but what is the student is struggling or afraid to communicate that something is wrong. Teachers please be kind to our students and be patient, don't say there is no homework and then give extra homework for example how can they finish taking notes on a video that lasts 1 hour with short class time, of course then it becomes homework but wait they originally said it was classwork. Beware of double talk! Yes bullies do exist, fights break out, things are stolen, kids hurting others, property is damaged be prepared for your middle school kid to share some strange happenings. Rare and few a couple of good teachers exist, they do care hopefully your child will have a great teacher. Others are fake pretend to care, please teachers do not talk among yourselves about the students and just focus on the bad, discuss ways you can help, don't discriminate judge, make assumptions, but teach with passion this is what you chose for your career.( Students are seeing your behavior) If you are destined for you child to be part of this school be involved and ask your child each day, what can I do to help you.

We live in Clayton, CA and my daughter goes to Diablo View Middle School. It is a great school ... very professional, good teachers, kids are respectful and supportive, the academic curriculum is great, the music band is great, there are various options for kids to chose from. Most importantly, this school provides an environment safe from violence, discrimination, and harsh punishment. I have no complaints. I would rate this school 10/10.

I rate it great because the staff is awesome and the work they give my child is going to help her in the future. The people in the office give great attention.

I've been pleased with this school. My son is in eighth grade and his attitude about school has gone up dramatically since he started here. Every tearcher he's had has been open and communcative with me and easy to contact should I need to. The Vice Principal is one of the most helpful educators I've ever encountered. I wouldn't send my son anywhere else. The only downside to the school is that drop off and pick up can be a hassle if you're not there early.
