I have been attending this school for 5 years and since I have been here, the school has made a lot of improvements. The band especially. Our extra curricular activities are very family-like and make it much easier to find friends and teachers to get along with. Teachers are very open and friendly, making it easier to study and work with them. They are also willing to make adjustments based on the overall participation and interest of the students. We have programs such as Dater Cares which allows students to volunteer and help their community. I think that the school may be hard to warm up to at first but once you become familiar with the environment, it can be a great experience as long as you put forth the effort and determination.

Sending my son to Dater HS was the WORST decision I have ever made. There is ZERO accountability between the teachers and parents/students. The lack of communication/feedback with parents and zero follow up & follow through from administrative staff is truly mind blowing. Teachers not only fail to answer or return calls, emails also get ignored. I left messages with the both principals regarding the teachers failure to return calls and they also never returned my calls. Even escalated the issue to the Board of Education, and still no returned calls. If you have children that require extra time/attention from teachers and staff, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE.

Poor follow up & follow through from administrative staff. They give more satisfaction to policy than to the students education. Do not send your child to this so called learning institution. Zabrina Blue

I'm a freshman at Dater High School and I love it there. I'm also in the AA program which is only offered at Dater and Walnut Hills. Everyone likes to compare Walnut Hills to Dater, but I think that Dater is better. The population isn't very big which means everybody knows one another. The principal knows everyone by first names. He'll stop you in the hallway if you seem down and he's totally understanding about things. There are amazing teachers there. They actually take time to explain things to you. I've also made friends at Dater High School that are like my 2nd family. Dater is a very good school. I haven't regretted my decision to go here than Walnut ever since 7th grade. (:

awesome !! i loved going there and miss it but had to switch out because they do not have a credit recovery program =[ but overrall its a friendly atmosphere and 95% of the people get along.... the principle is cool and the teachers are tough because they want to see everyone pass ......
