My experience in the 5th grade was great. Teachers were fair and made learning personal and fun. The new edition of the PBL program was one of my best schooling experiences. The band and advanced art programs were phenomenal. 6th grade, on the other hand, had trouble reaching the bar set for it by 5th grade. I didn't necessarily have a bad experience, but it was significantly worse than 5th grade. After making it to 7th grade, I found that my 6th grade teachers were way overpreparing and stressing us out about the year to come. I did not find the academic flex time to be very useful and considered it to be a waste of time, compared to the study hall that they had when my sibling went. I found the inclusion of technology into the classrooms enriching, but many of the websites I was learning from and teaching myself off of (like a calculator website) ended up blocked by the school's out of control Blocksi extension. All in all, I had a decently positive experience at Eh Greene Intermediate School.

I cannot say enough but our time at Greene school. As an educator myself, the approach to teaching at Greene is light-years ahead of my district an many others. Of course academics are not the only thing that Greene has to offer. The music program in particular has blown me away. My daughter is in ensemble, advanced orchestra, and orchestra and she loves every moment. The teachers push her to do well and strive to be better. I can honestly say I have not had one negative experience at Greene. The administration is always visible walking around during lunches (parents can come eat) and talking to the kids. That truly is how you build strong learning communities and relationships with kids. That is essential to have a successful school. Greene school's teachers and administrators, as well as Sycamore Community schools as a whole gets that!

EH Greene Intermediate School in the Sycamore school district has been a breathe of fresh air for our family. Our son's teaching team clearly works together to actually TEACH the children each and every second they are at school, not passing on the expectations to parents at home. He is well prepared for tests when they arise, needing only review for preparedness. The teachers consistently "test" the students for growth and learning in order to design their lessons. If someone doesn't understand...they reteach the material until it is mastered. I cannot say enough about this school. Our oldest attended an elite private school and this school blows that experience out of the water.

EH Greene is great for white middle-class students and less so for non-white students. However, there is an openness to understanding how EH Greene can be great for all students.

My child does not attend this school however we have visited the school on several occasions for sporting events. I am not impressed with the facility. The gym has an awful odor. Not to mention that the word buses, is mispelled on the asphalt outside of the school. It is painted on the ground as busses. Really?! This is an educational institution and you can not recognize when you have a word misspelled, big as day, right on your bus lane. Why is it still like that?

Greene School is comprised of enthusiastic and fair teachers led by a Principal that is encouraging and who enjoys his job. The teachers seek many ways to help the children succeed and assist in their academic growth. The students enjoy going to school and making friends. Lunchtime and recess is an inclusive time for all kids where new friendships are formed,

This is one of the worst schools if your child struggles in any subject, you and your child are on your own. The teachers misplace work constantly and put blame on everyone else but themselfs. Teachers are not understanding or very helpful. Their arrogance tend to get in the way of your childs education. The principal is just no help either, he sides in with all the teachers right or wrong. Very stressful school on student and parents. I would not recommend this school to anyone. They are not worth the 1 star that i give them.
