My daughter started at St Philip when she was two. Eight years later I’m still thrilled with the education she receives. Learning should be joyful and St Philip definitely makes this happen. The teachers emphasize meaningful, exciting learning. This year she went to a week-long overnight outdoor education camp. Her class has ventured to a local park to explore simple machines in action on the playground. The whole school makes regular treks to the nearby nature center to explore anything from animal life to art in nature. These are the learning experiences she’ll remember for the rest of her life. St Philip is a small school where my child excels academically and socially. Every staff member knows my child and has a relationship with her. There’s an active parent network that plans multiple family events throughout the year. St Philip is a great place and I’m glad I chose it for my child.

I have two elementary school age kids and they are thriving. The class sizes are small so they get a ton of 1 on 1 attention. I like that St Philips uses differenciated instruction so that the instruction is based on the child as an individual, not the class as a whole. Definitely not they type of education they'd get at CPS. I also have a 504 for one of my children and the school has been more than willing to accomdate my child's needs. Also, a huge plus for me is that the teachers don't assign unreasonable amounts of homework. Kids lives are busy as it is. Hours of homework after school is not something I'm interested in. Seriously, we never have more than a half hour of homework. St Philips is such a blessing to my kids and to all children who go here.

When I drop off my children I feel that they are safe in a school like St. Philip. Great parental involvement and strong school system. You are fortunate to be able to start your child off at St. Philip and to see them graduate from such a great school! It used to be combined classes with the first and second graders but not anymore...they each have their own classrooms and teachers. By the way- The sinks and water fountains HAVE been repaired. Like anything else things tend to break but these were repaired and are now exceptionally beautiful and completely functioning.

Excellent teachers in the early childhood program, strong principal, our daughter is in the preK program 2nd year. Nurturing, Safe environment, children are very kind to one another, you can see the kids are very happy and are learning just by observing their interaction with one another. My daughter can read and always surprises me with little nuggets of knowledge she learns at school

And why is the girl's water fountain broken? Why has it BEEN broken for months? Honestly, you hired the guy to break the thing. Now it hurts to crank the thing because the guy came, took off the handle, and left. I love the teachers, though. But to put two classes together is insane. I asked a second grader what they thought of second grade, and they said they were learning all first grade stuff.
