My experience over the past 7 years has been great. As the principal/7th & 8th grade home room teacher I have seen great improvement in the moral and academic performance of all the students. We have a four tier awards program: Principals’ List 3.8-4.0+, High Honor Roll 3.5-3.7.9, Honor Roll 3.0-3.49 and Honorable Mention. The majority of our students are in the top two tiers. We have now added the 9th - 12th grades. With 9th and 10th as traditional and the 11th and 12th in a virtual online classroom association with Atlanta Adventist Academy.NSAA is growing spiritually with sharing our faith in the community as well as students accepting Christ as their Lord and Savior.

This school should've closed down years ago. Education is weak and performs relatively weaker from the past student generations that came here. Very Very Low transfer rate into Selective Enrollment. Only rich and smart parents are able to do so by prepping this children outside this school. The school recently lost their edge as a good breeding ground for talented mixed/well rounded students in music and academia by firing one of the best classical music teachers. If you're looking for a good rate of return on your investment for your child, this school is not the place to go. If you have free money to throw around and risk your child to this environment, by all means have fun. Nevertheless, I do recommend your child learning from the music teachers from this school. Good things about this school: Diversity of Color.

This is an amazing school. Many of its graduates go on to enroll in selective enrollment high schools like North Side College Prep, Lane Tech, and Whitney Young. Most students over the course of their studies at NSAA also become accomplished musicians, who can play more than one instrument. This school produces leaders in a loving family environment.

Terrible. I have never felt the way I was made to feel on a day to day basis while in contact with these people. Bullying is not taken as seriously as it should be.

North Shore always had wonderful and loving teachers & staff who guide the students toward excellence in character and academics. Amazing music programs and strong academics, the new principal has taken NSAA to new heights since last year.

If you want great Christian education for your children, NSAA is the right place. It's the only Seventh-day Adventist church school in Chicago. Good news for parents who value a quality Christian education for their children.

I went to this school from prek to 6th grade...and honestly i enjoyed it until i got to the 4th grade. The kids there were stuck up and the principle was totally unfair. In 5th-6th i had the same teacher and quite frankly this lady would send me down to the office liek everyday. By that time the principle had absolutely bo patience with me. Im glad i left that school. Its supposed to be a 7th day adventist school where it teaches about God, im not.saying it doesnt but its definetly not enough. Im a sophmore now in highschool and thankfully they have found a better principle. I would never send my kids here.. So if i.had to rate the school it would be like a 1

This school has very good teachers for grades K to 6. Unfortunately, the 7th, 8th, 9th, & t0th grades share two teachers for all the clasess. The 11th & 12th grades use a satellite set up where students look at a monitor since their teacher is out of state. There is probably a total of 3 or 4 students in the high school. I spoke to the principal about a concern that I had with one of the teachers consistently losing my child's homework. She said she would investigate but never followed up with me. As a result the grades reflected the missing homework. I have since moved moved my children elsewhere where teachers are not misplacing their school work and are doing much better in the new school. If you are a busy parent and your child works hard you will be disappointed with the follow up behavior of the principal who is currently there if you ever experience this same situation. Again, two stars for all the good teachers in K-6.
