While I am a new teacher to the building, I hope to stay for much longer. This is truly a wonderful place to teach and for students to learn.

I'm very unhappy with this school. My child is new to Gillespie, she has been bullied pretty much since the first week of school. I went up to the school when it strated nothing was done about it. Well today she was hit several times with a broom stick by that student. Would you believe the school didn't think it was important enough to call me or her dad? I don't feel my child is safe in this school. The teacher was there while my child was being assaulted by this other student she did nothing. My question is why did this girl have a broom stick and where did she get it from? Bad school unsafe for children!

Gillespie is a great school! For years I have been seeking help for my child. I have always felt that she needed to be evaluated in order to receive the instruction that she needs. After enrolling her in Gillespie and requesting an evaluation she finally received the support she needed and she is doing well. Thank you Gillespie!!

This school has some of the most wonderful technology that I have ever seen! The students are using the technology in their classrooms and they love it!

Gillespie is a great school thus far very pleased with the staff administration to the teachers. My son is currently in Pre-K full time and he is receiving a quality education wit the advance technology, hands on activities, reinforcement of proper behavior, and constant encouragement, and I love the communication between teachers and parents. I do see majority of staff encouraging good behavior and keeping the kids safe before, during, and after school with helping children stay away from various public establishments, helping them cross the streets safely, fun and encouraging activities throughout the month. I was surprised at the parent turnout. Great job to principal willis and the Pre K teachers Ms. Brothers and Cooperwood. Adminstration staff Ms. Sanders and the other lady (forgot her name).

I love Gillespie School. One of the reasons I was comfortable moving my family to this area is because I heard a lot of good things about what was going at Gillespie. The teachers are very caring and there are lots of programs after-school and on the weekends to keep the kids in a constant state of learning while having fun.

Excellent neighborhood school with an emphasis on STEM. Teachers, principal and staff are caring and concerned. Lots of extracurricular activities enhance the education process.

My son recently transferred to gillespie from a so called "good" school. After getting adjusted to the new surroundings, his grades and behavior greatly improved and he was one grade shy from being included on the honor roll. Gillespie does a lot with the limited funds that they receive and the teaching staff seems patient and dedicated. I would recommend gillespie to anyone looking for a school for their children.

Gillespie has been a great school for my two girls so far. they're learning experiences are greatly improving as they progress from grade to grade. I hope the teachers continue to perform outstanding work as they always have to further the education of their students for years to come.

Gillespie has been an overall great school for my children, they are learning things that most schools don't teach and as a young parent it is great to see my kids learn about technology and have a chance to learn things that i didn't learn at there age. Gillespie is a wonderful school....

In recent years, Gillespie has improved scholastically. It offers 21st century technology throughout the learning experience with three (3) computer labs and smart boards in every classroom. The school is no longer on probationary status and is making strides everyday. Go by the school and see the new playground. The school sign in front is updated with activities and events happening each day. As a community member, the strides made at Gillespie have been remarkable. Not at all what I expected it to be the curriculum is horrible in that school. The principle fires help and assistants that can handle unruly kids better than she can. My son has not even participated in writing cursive language and he is already in the 8th grade.

my school is fort Dearborn but I really want to go to Gillespie I love this smart educational school it is better than fort Dearborn I did research

Gillespie School is a great school! My daughter is currently in 5th grade. She's been a student there since kindergarten. The principal has started a lot of new programs like ballroom dancing ,chess and technology . The school has won many awards under her leadership and it is now a Technology Magnet School.
