My son attends this school.. It is terrible for he is in a diverse class room that do not care about student learning goals. Also the office workers need to be fired as well as the assistant principal. This school is understaffed and does not show concern for the some students, Mainly students with disabilities. This school does not watch the students effectively. My son has an IEP, I receive a call from a parent stating he was with a group of kids.. The school didnt even know he was gone. Once I contacted them the next day. Their response was, "He knows the routine for dismissal" I could have lost my son that day if it wasnt for that parent calling me. My son will not be returning back to that school.. & for parents, please get contact information (name and number) from other parents and vice versa. You never know if you may have to call one day.. I wouldn't want no parent to go through what I went through..

I have a special needs child with autism (Asperger's Syndrome). He isn't learning much of anything. The teacher just sends home worksheets of math daily (math that he sometimes did in 2nd and 3rd grade). Not sure what is happening to the other subjects like spelling, science, history as we barely see any of that work. Based on what they are teaching or should I say not teaching, he will be behind in core subjects. I have hired a tutor to try and keep him on track with his grade level work which is frustrating to him that he has to do so much work outside of school. The sad part is that I know some teachers in special education and have been advised that most of the other schools in the nearby area have the same issues. This school needs a total revamp starting with the main office and then working itself down.

I am the parent of a child with special needs, this school IS NOT a good school if you have a child with a disability such as cerebral palsy. My son started kindergarten and was placed in the wrong room, then I was told the classroom he was suppose to be in was full. My son is in diapers and there was an aide around SOMETIMES to change him and when there wasn't his diapers would be so full that his pants would get soiled with urine and feces on top of that my baby had two nail marks on his wrist, so deep that it penetrated his skin. I talked to the assistant principal and his teacher about it, but the teacher denied knowing what happened to his wrist and he still continued to come home with his clothes soiled and foul. currently I'm trying to get him placed into a better school, until then, he WILL NOT be returning to RYDER!! I read the warnings from the parents about this school when the office of diverse learners told me they were placing him there, but they gave me such a hard time placing him elsewhere, I HOPED the reviews weren't as bad as the parents said, but it was/is! word form the wise DO NOT PLACE YOUR SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD HERE, THEY BARELY HAVE HELP, THE TEACHERS ARE THERE FOR A PAYCHECK, AND THEY DON'T ALLOW YOU TO CHECK IN ON YOUR CHILD DURING SCHOOL HOURS!! :/

I am a parent of a special need child, who was 4yrs old, that attended this school, I was so unpleased with the service and education that my son was receiving, but most of all the lack of support that the aides were providing. My son came home with marks and bruises that could not be blamed on the other children, but on the lack supervison from the aides that were in class with them...i pulled my son out of the school immediately!! There are so many parents that have children with special needs, and i think their reviews and opinions should be seen and heard. This is why it is so important that i post and rate this school, I would strongly NOT recommend this school if your child has a special need(s)/IEP. I cant speak on the general education class, but definatley the special need program
