Montgomery School is a dream ! The school is warm and inviting, the teachers are kind and engaging, and academics are interesting and rigorous. It really feels like a community that cares about each child. I know my child is always supported as the person he is and I have heard many other stories from parents of their own children being supported in the same way. Montgomery students are also all very sweet and innocent, there are not disruptions and the classroom, and it just seems like a very safe and wonderful place for their brains and hearts to develop. We also love all of the fun events for the children and the great opportunities for parent involvement. If you want a school where you child will learn, be loved, and be safe - Montgomery is the place!

I cannot express how awful this school is. If you are a blonde hair, blue eyed, horseback riding and tennis playing female from an upper class family, with absolutely no social difficulties or learning difficulties, you will do great. If you don't meet that criteria, forget about it. The students are SO incredibly mean, and the teachers sit back and watch, never caring once for children being bullied right before their eyes. They offer no special education services, though they don't claim to, but if you think your child who has ADHD and could succeed in literally any other reg ed classroom can do well here, you're wrong. The teachers will not spend an extra second with your child. My daughter did fine in elementary school with some extremely mild accommodations like being seated towards the front of the classroom and her teacher checking her planner to ensure assignments are written down correctly. Teachers at Montgomery were unwilling to do this and complained constantly about her high energy. In this not, her "high energy" caused about 5-6 meetings in her two years there where they were angry at her for fidgeting in class, but didn't want her to have a fidget toy or anything of the sort. After meeting with the principal all those times, he still didn't recognize me or remember my name when I came to pick my daughter up early one day. My daughter received a far more superior education at public school....academics were more rigorous with teachers who actually helped, there was more social-emotional learning, and socially, things were so much better and students were so much kinder. Save your money and send your child anywhere else.

Montgomery School offers everything a child could possibly need. The staff is so warm and loving, academics are challenging and interesting, and the students are loving and supportive towards each other. We love it here so much

Our daughter thrived at Montgomery pre-k through 8th grade. Small classes allowed teachers to really get to know our child. Loved the focus on character development, public speaking and independent thinking. Our child was very shy and they helped her develop her confidence and leadership skills. Exceptional academics prepared her well for high school! Amazing campus and community!

I’ve been here since 2014 and loved every moment of it! I don’t think I’ve had any bad experiences in all of my 9 years here. Even during remote learning, I still felt able to learn and complete work at an above average level. I’ll be leaving the school in 5 months and I wouldn’t change anything about my experience here, and I know the amazing faculty and staff here have supported and prepared me for my high school years. Not to mention I have thousands of amazing memories just from middle school alone.

Leadership is weak. Teachers are fine. If you live in a good school district you will find more support and resources at your local public school.

This school has provided a great foundation for our daughter. She is adept at public speaking, confident, and highly organized - all attributes she acquired at Montgomery.

Amazing. The teachers emphasize strong character, public speaking, empathy, and integrity. Lots of technology is utilized as well as the outdoor ecosystems. Friendships last through college, between students and teachers as well.

When you step foot on Montgomery’s campus, there is a feeling of being at home when you meet the highly engaged faculty, and then you see how the faculty make a lasting impact on your child. The values of the school are our family values. Montgomery is providing an environment where my son is learning lifelong skills that will make him successful as well as gain confidence that he can learn anything, be anything, and handle anything life gives him.

Our family has had a very positive experience at the Montgomery School. Moving from public school, we found the small class sizes and the individualized instruction to be exceptional. Integration of strong character development throughout the day contributes to the young leaders who graduate from here.

Montgomery School has been an excellent experience for my whole family. The entire teaching staff is knowledgeable, caring, and professional. My children have developed lasting friendships and self awareness as part of their years spent at Montgomery. We love Montgomery School!

"Our two daughters attended Montgomery School K-8 and graduated in 2009 and 2012 respectively. One of our daughters is an extrovert and fiercely competitive, and the other is very introspective and thrives in academia. Montgomery School did an amazing job in identifying their differing personalities at a young age. Both of our children have gone onto competitive academic high schools. Both have chosen to study differing areas of science in college, one at Georgetown University and the other at Boston College, two Jesuit institutions that foster the continued development of character into adulthood. I am so thankful to Montgomery School for teaching character development in the formative years of their childhood, such that this was important in selecting their schools for secondary education. I believe that it was the outstanding academic environment that initially fostered the love of math and science in both of our girls. Montgomery School provided a safe environment where our girls could play and allow them each to develop into the confident young women that they are today."

Montgomery School is second to none. We have 3 children and our eldest has been at MS for 11 years. We could not be more pleased with the growth and character in our children. it is a wonderful place that not only focuses on academic rigor, but also encourages leadership and good character. If you love your child, look at Montgomery School.

06/2017 - While I congratulate the above review I have to question the validity of two students who, by admission are at least 9 years possibly more removed from Montgomery now. So much has changed in regard to teaching techniques, school resources, technology, new educational standards in that time and not to mention the cost. Montgomery is charging a Main Line tuition fir what is not anywhere close in comparison to that. Our student has earned honors classes and an AP course, however, we were told her deficient education in math as well as English (these two subjects are two areas of trouble for MS, with at least two students from class of 2016 repeating Algebra 1 as freshman) her participation in these classes may be taken away if our child can't keep up. This means a 2nd year of summer school to fill in what was missed at MS. 06/2016 - 11 years wasted on a sub-standard education. Had we only known just how awful it was, we would have left. Now attending an excellent Main Line School, I can say with complete certainly Montgomery School is truly a waste of money and your students educational experience. What a stark difference our current experience has been in opposition to Montgomery. The students are absolutely out of control and the administration is clueless. The academics are so poor, completion of 5 total chapters of 12 in Geometry is considered "completed". If you have need of financial aid and have an average child you want to feel special, this school is it for you. If you have the means and a student capable of consuming knowledge, pick another school. Wish I had known then what I know now.

All of our children attended Montgomery until 8th grade and then made informed individual decisions for their secondary school choice. Now that our 2 eldest have finished college and entered the workplace, it is evident the foundational impact of the Montgomery School experience. Today's employers hire for character, commitment and competency, in that order. Character is a direct outcome of the school's motto "veritas, pietas, caritas" (truth, loyalty, compassion). That's not just a phrase on the wall, it's real behavior supported every moment your child is on campus. So very grateful.

Phenomenal school and we have been around the block school-wise. School offers rigorous academics paired with a warm and loving environment. Best part is that students are expected to be respectful and kind and this is enforced consistently. My children do not have problems with other children, period. If they were to, it would be dealt with efficiently and quickly as Mrs. Marotta, Head of the Lower School, is a very talented educator and administrator. This trickled down and I have noticed that many of the faculty members are friends and encourage one another. That then affects students who watch their teachers support and be kind to one another. I am grateful my children have wonderful role models at school. We feel blessed to have found this gem of a school.

Our family started at Montgomery in the fall of 2009 and currently have children in 3rd grade and K. What I like most about this school is that my children are waiting by the door in the morning excited and ready to start another day at Montgomery! The teachers and faculty clearly do things with passion here and it sure is contagious. There is such a perfect balance of academics, arts, sports and community. We could not imagine being at another school and so so happy to be party of the Mongtomery 'Family'.

I cant believe most of these comments. Our two kids graduated 4 and 6 years ago. They both attended great Main Line Private schools. I could cry at the difference between what my kids could have achieved and experienced that they did not at this small school. NEWCOMERS, check out the excellent schools in the area before settling.

Our children started at Montgomery in 6th and 5th grades. It has been an excellent move for our children, with wonderful teachers and activities. We like the small class sizes and individual attention. The teachers care about each student and develop deep relationships with them. Students are encouraged to try new sports, different instruments in music class, and new mediums in art class. The science curriculum encourages active participation and experimentation. We are pleased we found Montgomery School!
