I had a great time visiting Basic Primary one of the most incredible schools I have ever been to in Virginia. They have amazing teachers who strive to ensure each student is learning new things at their own pace. The classroom environment is remarkable. There is so many engaging activities for children. I am so proud that I had an opportunity to visit with this very welcoming team of staff members. Thanks to all the wonderful teachers at Basic Primary.

2013 reviews are outdated and irrelevant. This little school is quiet, with small classes. Teachers and staff are nurturing and attentive. Kids are happy and well adjusted. Lots of toys and activities, classroom stimulation for learning and exploration. Daily report cards let us know what is happening, and all classrooms, entire school monitored with cameras. Our family is happy with this sweet little daycare/school.

If I could give it a 0, I would. Some of the teachers are very nice and tries to handle the kids. But the place is understaffed. And the director is never there. When she is there she berates the staff. I've seen her do in front of the children and parents sometimes when I do see her.

Old, dirty, run down facility. Director is often not available as she is running "errands".

I find it difficult to believe that anyone could could submit anything but a highly favorable review for Basics Primary School. My children attended "Basics" and now my granchildren are enrolled there. The service, care, education, and development of social skills provided there is by far more than simply adequate. It is outstanding. We have found that no other daycare/preschool that can match their level of friendliness, professionalism and the care given to each child. The facility is always clean and I have never heard a voice raised by any of the friendly and courteous staff. I HIGHLY recommend "Basics" to any parent who truly cares about the care and development of their child.

Whoever is reviewing this school has very low standards of child care or works for the school. Plus, look at the years of the reviews, maybe this school was once better. They get 1 star because this app doesn't allow '0'. The level of staff interaction with each other and the children is downright inappropriate at times. I watched in horror as 2 teachers had a screaming match with one another while holding my young child's hand. He had just began the school on a trial basis and needless to say I pulled him out promptly. They didn't even realize that I was standing there. The director is NEVER at the school. The teachers are not up to par as far as curriculum is concerned. They do not feed the children what is on the stated menu, there is no real flow to the activities and daily schedule, and they are VERY STANDOFFISH when parents show up to make use of the "open door policy". In further touring the school, I found the facilities to be cramped, dirty, and in need of repair (see the playground). I understand that standards of care have seemingly become lax nowadays, but I do NOT recommend this school to any parent who is genuinely concerned for their child's well being.
