I have been so impressed with Betz Elementary’s teachers and their commitment to the students and families they serve. Teachers and staff are always willing to meet with me and provide needed feedback to ensure my child gets the education and services she needs. It’s a two way street to educate children and this staff has always gone the extra mile.

It's pulling teeth trying to communicate with teachers and the rest of the staff. I'm pulling my son out because his teacher punished him for being home sick by throwing away the Valentine's he received from his classmates because "she didn't know when he was coming back".

I could NOT ask for a better school. We weren't sure what to think, since Betz rates 3/10 on this site; but, honestly, we have been pleasantly surprised for the three school years we've been here. Even in the midst of the pandemic, this school (and the District, for that matter) has done an excellent job of BEING THERE for the students, the parents, and those with unique circumstances. Not only is my son able to still learn, he may actually get caught up in preparation for next year. I am SO THANKFUL for the entire team of staff and teachers we've been lucky enough to work with. We have had such a great experience with Betz that we are considering choicing our other child from her current school to Betz.

I notice no one has posted a review since about 2009.We arrived in 2013 and put our daughter in 2nd grade. She is now in 4th grade.There are a number of good teachers at Betz, and a number of nominal.Most disturbing, there does not seem to be a good handle on behavior and discipline. The "Behavior Classroom" (10 slots) is already full from transfers around the district, so "borderline" and distracting students remain in the main classrooms. This year my daughter (and her brand-new 4th grade teacher) were placed with 6-8 distracting kids, 3-4 of which have serious behavior issues and meet with the counselor daily. Often these kids spent much of their time going back and forth to the office, causing a lot of distraction and teaching delay. Two other 4th grade classes have only 1 or 2 kids meeting with the counselor, so clearly we got the "unlucky" classroom. Actually, a 2nd grade class has a very similar story this year. Better luck for you. Be sure to get your background check done, and plan to join PTA and volunteer in your classroom to help the situation as much as possible.
