Sprout House is an amazing place with wonderful staff and teachers. Both of our boys have developmental and behavioral special needs, and Sprout House went out of their way to work with them, support them, and help them thrive, teaching them social, emotional, behavioral, and academic skills with fun and creative play-based learning. Mrs. Simon (the pre-school teacher) brings an astounding level of passion to her job.

My 3 year old daughter has been going here all year in the 5 day morning program and we are very pleased so far. The teachers are great and the progress has been dramatic. We will be sending her to the summer program and starting our son when he's another year older.

Two of my three daughters attended Sprout House before we moved out of the area. I can't stress enough the basis of Sprout House is to instill a love of learning. My girls still miss it and it's been over a year and a half since we left. I miss it even more. Truly a great community school.

This school gets it right - learning through hands-on activities and relating information to real-life application, rather than just learning things by rote or memory. I love how their curriculum is rich in science and nature-based content, and how they encourage children to view themselves as part of a greater whole where community and environment is concerned. They really focus on nurturing a sense of curiosity and a love for learning, which is what kids need to carry themselves successfully through life. Highly recommend!

I love this school. My daughter's teacher is amazing. Firm but loving and a great teacher. My child loves going to school every day. The focus on learning through nature really gets her excited and I also really appreciate the fact that they require healthy eating/no junk food. A great little school!

Love the program. A bit of academics but not too much, esp. at the younger ages. Lots of incorporation of nature into learning, as opposed to just having "nature lessons". The kids get to cook from time to time in the kitchen upstairs. Lots of outdoor time, only rain and sub-25 degree weather keep them in. Creativity and open play too. It is nut free - junk food is not allowed (almost to a fault, but going to public school now I really appreciate and miss the junk-free rule) My kids loved it there and were very happy there. The rising-5s teacher is amazing. There has been some movement of teachers; there was a great K teacher for a while, then a not-so-great one, now I think they are back to a good one. The fundraisers are so nice, a native plant sale and a book sale run in conjunction with a small, local indep. book store. The rules do feel like a bit much while you are there, but I can see how hard it is to keep things in check without them.

Quite simply the quality of the teachers is phenomenal. The children learn in a way that develops their natural curiosity and I'm constantly delighted to hear about the activities at the school. My son is graduating from the "Rising Five" program at Sprout House and as much as I like the Chatham schools, I have bittersweet feelings about the transition into the public system and like the other poster I wish that my little one could continue at Sprout House through elementary school (they no longer offer grades 1 through 3).
