The district prides itself on keeping the price of individual educating students on the low side, however, this approach is starting to fray. The school is too large and needs additional staff.

As a parent of a child who never enjoyed going to school until she got to middle school, I can say that that is a testament to the great school it is. There are classes, electives, enrichments and clubs for every style and type of child. The teachers are proactive and the vice principals are approachable and reliable. The principal is a ray of sunshine.

Poor. Chaotic. Overcrowded. Lack of strong leadership. It is also apparent that the middle school seems to favor the girls over the boys. So disappointing.

Chatham public schools offer a fantastic education for our children. We feel so blessed to live in a community that values the highest standards in education, inclusion of all children, regardless of background, and fosters a supportive learning environment. We have heard from graduates of the School Distruct of the Chathams that they were very well prepared for college, and that graduating from Chatham High put them in a more desirable category for colleges, as the academic rigor here is well known. Our schools offer a fantastic value for a superb education!

CMS has great music, art and counseling supports. My two daughters have been VERY well prepared for high schools and seem to excel compared to cousins in other school districts.

We moved to Chatham for the excellent school district since it was a top-rated school by NJ Monthly year after year. With 3 kids who either went through the middle school or are currently in it, I couldn't ask for a better education for my children.

I've had two out of three children go through this school so far. The teachers and administrators are very dedicated. It's an awkward age for kids, but the staff works through it and teaches our kids to be ready for high school. The curriculum is very thorough and makes the students well-rounded.

My daughter attends Chatham Middle School. The administration and BOE care deeply about the education of all of the students. The school goes above and beyond to educate and prepare students.

This school pushes the liberal agenda to new heights , not a very good school if you want to raise your kids to be strong, confident and independent thinkers ... STAY AWAY !!

The CMS teachersand staff whom we've encountered are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, genuinely care about the students and seem to enjoy what they do. The level of communication between school and home is so helpful, emails when there have been issues or missed assignments. I have nothing but good things to say about this school.

My child transitioned easily to this school. Would have liked to see more project based learning and more integration of technology. Staff needs to have more training in this area.

Poor quality school system. A considerable portion of the teachers there can't teach. They view physical education as a priority and consider actual education to be a secondary goal. Their recent extension, costing thousands of tax payer dollars, solely housed the new gymnasium(as if devoting 1/4 of the school day to P.E. prior wasn't enough.) The students are horribly mean spirited, and in some growing cases consistantly mock those who wish to learn. The teachers hardly every intervien to stop this bullying(even when they are allowed to do so). A significant number of teachers actually discriminate on those who wish to learn, and instead focus their attentions on students who clearly have no interest in education. The only reason they boast their A+ grade averages on their website is because they radically inflate the grades from C's to A's. It is horrible school where only a modicum can prosper.
