This is a fantastic, all-around Catholic school, partnered with one of the strongest parishes in the state. The students are well-prepared for High School (most continue their academic careers at the more advanced private schools in the area), and are given a strong social and support network of friends and families as a result of attending. The athletic and enrichment programs also continue to expand and offer more to accommodate the families. In short, Madison is known for it's excellent public school system, so the fact that there is often a waitlist to get your kids in here should tell you all you need to know.

Not able to handle middle school children. Elementary is o.k. they are not prepared to deal with adolescence children. They are clueless how to deal with bullying situations.

This school used to be great but I do not recommend this school for middle school. There are only two teachers who really do their job and in math and science they are lacking so much information the students ned for high school. The sports are very limited and all together not what you except from this school

SVMS is hands down one of the very best Catholic school for elementary & middle school in NJ. It is very rare today to find a catholic school that has both its Principal in Sister Noreen & its Pastor Fr. George both well loved, adored & highly respected by school & parish community. You immediately sense a positive aura among its 400 SVMS member families that results in a positive interaction among parents. It's a simple, down to earth group of parents despite tons of very impressive credentials among many parents. In the last 5-10 years, you cannot help but notice a big number of CEO's, Lawyers, Doctors, Dentists, Wall Street Sr. Executives, and even Professional Athletes among the parents. Academically, SVMS is a top feeder school for the very best elite catholic high schools & private independent College Prep schools such us Delbarton, Villa Walsh, Oak Knoll, Pingry, Newark Academy & Kent Place. Advance Math classes are offered starting in 4th gradefor those who qualify. Latin is taught together with Spanish starting in 7th grade. The STEM (Science, Technology,Engineering, Math) program was successfully implemented for middle school & will now be expanded to lower grades.

St. Vincent is an excellent school that offers strong academics coipled with a community enviornment that is very supportive of students and families. Our son has thrived both academically and socially and we think that St. Vincent is the right choice for a strong academic experience based on Catholic principles.
