The children are out of control. The school is not safe for students or safe. The principal cares more about her image than about helping the school.

All three of my kids attended Woodbrook -- my two oldest before the school's expansion and conversion to largely multi-age classrooms, and my youngest after the conversion. All three have loved the school, their teachers and their friends, and I have no complaints. When we moved to Charlottesville in 2014, the first thing we looked at while house hunting were the ratings for each neighborhood school. Frankly, I'm surprised how far Woodbrook's ratings have fallen since then, and I don't think a 2/10 is at all indicative of the quality of the education kids are getting there. I'm guessing that has something to do with the expansion, and a larger, more diverse group of students attending Woodbrook. Personally, I'm proud that my kids have been able to attend an elementary school that is more racially, culturally and economically diverse than the ones my husband and I attended. I think that that will serve them really well going forward.

Do not send your children to this school. It is a multi age classroom setting which has been a disaster and a really bad decision. Now that it is double in size, the non English speaking students are an issue as is bullying that is not handled properly if at all and the teachers spend most of their time on problem children and non English speaking children instead of the ones that are really there to learn and excel. Teachers are so variable in bad to good. They are not prepared for middle school. We are taking our children out of there for next year.

Good teachers and staff. Love the community feel of the school. My son enjoys school and great that it's a fairly diverse school. However, diversity among staff could be better. They sometimes don't allow children enough recess and social lunch time. Overall, good experience.

Wonderful & dedicated principal, teachers and staff. I feel confident in the education and life skills my kids are receiving.

I am a former Woodbrook student and I can easily say this was the best school I have ever attended. I spent grades K through 5 at this school and there was almost nothing I disliked about it. The teachers were almost always warm and inviting, and even though the school itself is small, the friendly kids definitely make up for it. The current principal is phenomenal as are several of the teachers. I created strong, lifelong friends at Woodbrook and I will remember my wonderful experience there for the rest of my life.

We've been absolutely thrilled with Woodbrook Elementary. Everyone from the Principal to the teachers to the Administrative staff seem to respect each other, respect the children, and have a common goal to foster a lifetime love of learning.
