This school is truly a wholesome and diverse community that has provided a nurturing environment for my two children, one in 1st grade and the other in 2nd grade. I am especially pleased with the support they offered to my 1st grader, who was an IEP student and had transferred from Fairfax. Since joining this school in Pre-K, we've witnessed a consistent and positive growth experience. The dedicated teachers have played a pivotal role in nurturing their development and have been actively involved in their progress, making it a wonderful educational journey for both of them.The principal's commitment to creating a welcoming and supportive school environment adds to the overall positive experience we've had here.Dedication to the well-being and academic success of all students is evident, and their open-door policy and regular interactions with parents are greatly appreciated.

This school has the potential to be great but falls very short. A lot of administrative turnover since it opened with the latest principal putting a positive smile outward to parents, but not trusting and micromanaging her teachers. The special education department has parents fighting for every single accommodation of help. They say they support the child and want to help but actually do the opposite and it start to feel like it's deliberate. They make getting special education needs a struggle despite clear diagnoses and need.STEM is such a big part of education and coding is not included in the general curriculum at all, except for students in the gifted program. Only the gifted program has robots and coding. General students do not get this education.Teachers have been a real shining light at this school and try their best within a rigid and distrusting admin. The teachers are fabulous and should be given more freedom to teach, collaborate with each other and do what they do well.

Most educators are attentive to their students. The principal of the school is amazing. She is great with the students. She know how to interact with her students.

The administration is very experienced and cares deeply about students and staff! Teachers are highly qualified! Families are engaged and supportive.

We've been at the school since its opening with the first kid. Now we have the second kid going there. There has been a high rate of teacher turn over during the past 4 years and I often hope we get rezoned. I want to see the school work well but am left with nothing but hope. I have one kid that excels, isn't challenged, is bored and hates school because they know it already. The other is struggling, hates school and the teachers can't find a manner that clicks with them. Teachers continue to say “try harder” and do more at home; as if we're not already doing 2 hours of homework a night. I don’t think it’s the amount of effort.

My older child attended CRES for 4th and 5th grade and I currently have my younger child attending this school. I found every teacher that I have interacted over past few years, to be very involved in their students' success. The principal is efficient, seems supportive of teachers & staff and communicates well with parents.
