This school is so bad. I have been in this hell for 3 years and got bullied for 3 years straight. Every single time I report it the staff does nothing and never believes a word I say. I also went to the principal and told her how every SINGLE one of my teachers were being disrespectful. The principal said that it could not be all my teachers. I swear to god it was all my teachers and I was getting treated worse and worse. No one is kind here and I mean it. The bullying made my mental health worse and the mental health team don't help at all. They never believe a word I say and it seems like they don't want to deal with me. I have no one to vent too and I do not feel safe at all being here. I am still a student here but I'm going to high school soon and I just want to warn the people that are reading this that you will regret coming here, I suggest you go somewhere else. This is Mercer's true colors it's not this one good school where they put bullying prevention and stuff but don't even try to help. The staff just want to deal with nothing and also the teachers don't even teach but talk to the bullies as if they were nice. I don't even know why I have been discriminated here let alone for 6 years now. I have to be in a unwelcoming and unsafe environment for 3 years now and I am so done. I can't even talk to a teacher without getting yelled at and when I tell this informations to the staff they again don't believe me and roll their eyes at me I'm not joking. I never felt heard. I always wanted to know why I get treated like this and by the way I don't just get treated like this it's a lot of students that are getting treated like this. They don't care about me at all and they go like "No we care" But doesn't your actions speak louder than your words. I swear to god no one in Mercer cares. They did nothing to support me academically and emotionally. They get worse with you every single time you report it and talk about it and literally have meetings with my parents about it. They lie. I don't. But they say the opposite of that. I know that they are not going to change at all but I just wanted to let you know I get treated like trash and they treat me as if I am worthless with no value. The staff and students make fun of me a lot. I don't even know how the principal is not ashamed of herself and her employees. You guys should be because I am not staying quiet anymore. I want justice for the 3 years of hell I had in this stupid school. Please do not come here.

Both of my children were bullied at Mercer even after much communication with Principal Diehl and counselors. They knew few people because of rezoning from the elementary students they grew up with from K-5. Both kids went to therapy and had major anxiety because of being afraid to go to school. The Dean only told me to email vs look at the cameras on all 3 physical incidences. They did not want these reports in their records. Mrs. Diehl seemed to be a great leader, otherwise.

This school is awful. There are probably the worst teachers and students ever. My son was beat up by some kids and now he goes to thearpy. My son also was made fun of by his counselor and teachers for his grades. He was treated awfully and now he asked to homeschool for the rest of his life. Parents DO NOT send your kids here. They will be traumatized . Mercer Middle School peers and what my son calls betas. My son is the true skibididi sigma alpha male. I hate this generation!

Very caring staff and a Principal and Assistant Principals that love the students and have high expectations for them. The school, like all schools has some students with discipline issues, but between the admin team and the Head of security, they deal with what they know about. Have always been available when I've needed to discuss anything good or bad. I love the place. My kids love how the staff engage them in the hallways with high fives and encouraging words. My kids enjoy being there and it always makes for good dinner time conversations. So glad all of my kids have gone or are going to Mercer. Keep up the great work Ms. Diehl and MMS Staff! You have our families full support.

I really don't know what to say!Sometimes I feel like I don't feel safe in this school-I mean some of the teachers are nice but some are short tempered and just start shouting at you.like today some kids were walking home when me and the group of kids reached the intersection and some other kids behind us were chasing each other. The substitute crossguard saw them and called them over, and guess what he did!? He sent a message to the principal so the three kids can have a meeting with him tomorrow!!! Why didn't he just give them a warning? isn't that a little harsh?-I mean their just middle schoolers just trying to have fun.You parents just won't believe your ears, only your eyes?

This school is terrible, I'm homeschooling now because I am traumatized. My mental health is finally recovering from that horrible experience. DON'T GO HERE.

Everyone disrespects me and doesn't care about my mental health. The nurse and teacher yell at you and accuse you of skipping when you are in pain in the restroom and feel that it's hard to get to the next class. The students are extremely rude and have no respect. They write inappropriate stuff in the stalls and blame it on the good students who never had ISR. If I come back home and get in a bad mood over this stupid school, then I will start listing teachers names.

The school has a lot of great programs available to students. I especially appreciated the guidance counselor, Noah, for checking in on my student when he was concern about certain behavoirs to allow us to address traits we were doing at home that were translating to his studying tactics.

I am a student at Mercer and I absalotly love it. The staff are kind and supporteve and respect all student. The teachers try to make lessons fun and engageing and that all students profet from lessens. The students are kind exspesaly due to the exsensive efforts of the school to teach them good idels and most student take in these lessons an use them all the time bullying is not a problem at Mercer and the students are kind. teachers try their best to help students manage their work load and are very supporteve. They're dozens of clubs for students to pretisapate in and Mercer has opptions for all types of students. I love it there and can't wait to return for my eiath grade year.

Not a great school teachers are solely focused on SOLs and that comes from the leadership as they are in fear of losing their jobs and tell the kids so. Horrible experience there are much better run schools in LCPS. So sorry we have to stay for another year until Willard is turned back into a full middle school (what a horrible fail on the school board's part).

My experience with discipline on the school bus has been very negative. Some students on the school buses are out of control and bully other students constantly. This has been reported to the counselor and there has been no change. The school needs to do more to stop the bullying and obnoxious behavior on the buses!

If I had another option to choose for my child, she would not attend Mercer. The school is extremely overcrowded so my daughter has to be bussed to the High School. This was an intimidating experience for my daughter. Mercer teachers focus instruction on successful Virginia standardize testing / Standards of Learning (SOL) scores instead of learning curriculum. Stress from SOLs in addition to heavy homework/projects has caused unnecessary stress for my student. Music teachers require after school classroom practice and performances as part of students grade. Very limited extracurricular classes and programs. No sports teams. Traffic in/out of the school is crowded in the mornings.
